RUDE! MADE ME CRY! FAKE! AND VERY VERY GREEDY! WORST SALON EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE!. I needed to get just front extentions done because of a bad hair cut, I just moved to Minnesota not too long ago and called 3 times to tell them I was running late and they said this was ok because I even offered to re-schedule, but they said this was ok with them and to just come.

After realizing that I was in the downtown hennepin instead of the uptown hennepin I finally made it to the salon. When I got there Zilya was VERY MAD that I was late and told me how much I didn't appreciate her time and that she will be charging me a $50 late fee! Then because I didn't want to pay her another $30 for a consultation on a prior day she told me that I would be needing more hair extentions than first thought for frontal bangs part only and also that I need a new highlight and color or else *she couldn't let me walk out of the salon looking like that* So to make it cheaper I had a hair color by her assistant Meg who was super sweet- but by this time I was already crying from all of the charges and rude snobby comments from Zilya. What was supposed to be just frontal extentions ended up being a color, highlight ( which had to be re-done because the missed a big chunk in the front) $50 late fee and 6 hours later in that salon! I had already so much emotional stress from this horrible hair cut that I made this appointment and just wanted to get it over with and couldn't wait to re-schedule and find someone else that I just did it. I also at this time got a parking ticket because when I asked one of the assistants to pay the parking meter and put in $2.00 worth she only put in $1.00 and I got a ticket on top of this.

I will never go back there and STRONGLY suggest that all other people read what people say on here and save yourself the time, stress, and money. Zilya wanted to charge me for every small little thing and I ended up having to correct the cut they gave me with my extentions myself. DO NOT GO HERE! YOU WILL BE SUCKED DRY OF EVERY PENNY!

best color and cut ever. My very picky teenage granddaughters (age 14 and 17) were visiting from France and wanted new hair styles. We went to Zilya's (first time) for a consultation then a color and cut appointment. The girls were treated very nicely and respectfully--they were really listened to. Their color turned out fabulous and Zilya did an incredible job on their cuts. They were thrilled (no tears, just big smiles)! I've had color and cuts done at many of the best salons around the TCs and lived with a hairdressor for eight years so I know a good job. Zilya herself did both my color and my cut and they were the best I've ever had. Top notch all the way! She is a true artist and professional. Claudia did my extensions and she is superb.

Personal Attention, Best Color Anywhere!. I was immediately impressed when I first walked in simply by the decor and atmosphere. It's on the 2nd floor so you get a great view of uptown but it's so nice on the inside that it feels super VIP. I'm an interior designer with a strong knowledge of feng shui and other harmony principles. I have to say I am very impressed and the flow of the objects really contributes to the "feel good" type of atmosphere. Ok, about my service, I walked in was greeted right away and helped which I like because I'm a very impatient person and feel ackward waiting. The front desk realized it was my first visit and gave me a tour to become familiar with my surroundings (that was a nice touch), then the colorist took me for a consultation. This was really good because I always feel nervous that my hair won't look the way I want it to. So I told her what I wanted, she made some suggestions and gave different avenues to go. The consultation made me feel really comfortable knowing that my colorist and I were on the same page. Needless to say, it turned out incredible and I will be returning.

1st massage, Best Massage. I went to Zilya's after getting gift certificate from my husband for a relaxation day. I was a little scared at first because I am 6 months pregnant and feeling like a balloon. I was unsure what to expect because after all, a massage when you're pregnant sounds hard to do and second, how the hell do you massage a pregnant lady anyway? So I read the reviews before I went but wasn't worried because I wasn't getting my hair done. So when I got there I was introduced to my massage therapist, Claudia. I find out she's from Micronesia (very cool) but the coolest part was the massage. She has me laying on my side while she worked on my back, legs and other parts of my body. I have to say, this was one of the best experiences of my life. I never realized I needed a massage that badly until I was done and realized my body felt entirely different than when I first layed down.

Afterwards, one of the staff members looked at me and asked if I wanted her to fix my hair quick before I went flying out the door. That was nice of her, free of charge! =) And it actually looked really cute too so I'm coming back for a color consultation in a week.

Overall, the experience has made me trust reviews less, the staff and Zilya are not as horrible as some people make them out to be. We'll see how the color turns out but the massage was one the best things that has happened to me. Thank you Claudia!

Accomodating and reasonable. After reading other reviews I was a little apprehensive but decided to go to Zilya's anyway based on my consultation. The staff were really friendly and seemed very educated in their craft. They seem to work well as a team and consult with one another too when needed. I got used to the idea pretty quick because it was cool that I could have more than one opinion. It ended up being a really good experience for me so I'm glad that I ended up going there. I will be returning in a couple of weeks for touch-up colors with Meg? and we'll see how the 2nd time goes. I think they also mentioned something about new management so that might be a good thing. Last thing, one HUGE plus was that my colors turned out exactly how I had wanted them to be.

horrible attitude from Zilya!. I have been coming to Zilya for a while now.. The last time I was there she was horrible to her assistants.. I wish that I would have written this sooner but she treated her like she didn't know anything. She just kept saying stuff to push all them done.. there were 3 girls that were assisting her. I will never go back to a person who has such a horrible attitude. I feel like the assistants were more friendly than Zilya! Also she charges way too much for her services. No haircut should be $100! If you plan on going to Zilyas, make an appointment with Jessica, she's fabulous with her colors! Jessica's color are cheaper and just as good as Zilyas if not better! Jessica does what you want done.. not like ZIlya where she does whatever she thinks is good.. Jessica cares about you think.. I'm done with ranting and raving. After coming here for 3 years now I am through!!

Talented staff, VIP treatment. I have been coming to Zilya for years and quite frankly am offended and shocked at some reviews posted here. I have never experienced anything what some have described as disorganized. I've always known my prices ahead of time and if they've changed I've always been aware and informed of any new changes.

Zilya and her team are a group of talented individuals and I've received nothing but the VIP treatment ever since the first day I stepped foot in the salon. Therefore, like I said before, I am surprised that anyone would ever have a bad experience. I wonder if anyone brought their issues to the attention of the managers? I know it sounds silly, but almost 100% of the time, businesses are ready and willing to correct the problem.......the problem itself is that consumers rarely bring it to the attention of management but instead go home and pout.

All in all, I've always had great experiences, from both Zilya and the rest of her staff. The results have always been incredible (I don't think anyone can argue that) and the service has always been top notch. My recommendation is that if, in fact, there is a problem bring it to the attention of someone, I'm sure they'd be more than willing to help.

Too Expensive For The Results. Zilya is talented but her salon is not well run. I do agree with some other reviewers that the final prices are never what is listed or quoted. On both my visits the prices ended up being different. Also, both my visits took way too long because they went back and forth from me to another client. The salon is not that busy but there always seems to be a double book.

Not impressed. I purchased a package deal with some friends for a day at the spa. I'd never been to Zilya before but it was highly recommended on this site with 37 reviews so I thought, what the heck. Well, I just wasn't impressed. The massage was just OK--nothing special. My friend that got a massage only got 45 minutes instead of the hour that was paid for in the package. The facial was amazing, I have to say, the best facial I've had (her name is Carrie) and she was fun to talk to. We ended up skipping the manicure because we we're just standing around wondering what was going on after our first 2 treatments. Nobody came over to us for like 15-20 mins.---maybe even longer. It seemed a bit disorganized. AND it wasn't busy. I think there was 1 other person getting their hair done. In the past, at other salons, it's been seamless. Usually, you don't stand around waiting inbetween treatments and nobody communicates what's going on or where you're supposed to go?? Kinda weird. When we spoke to the owner about my friend only getting a 45 min. massage and just standing around what seemed like a very long time, she was kinda defensive. We just wanted to go about the rest of our day and forget the manicure but she wouldn't take it off of our bill. She said we can come back anytime within the next year for the manicure. We really would've liked to not have to pay for the service (manicure) because when you don't have a good experience at a spa you don't really want to go back there. So no complaints about the facial, totally awesome--There's so many spas/salons out there to choose from--I'm not looking forward to going back to get that manicure! I wouldn't recommend this salon/spa, unless you just want a facial. Kind of disappointing.

Attentive to Detail and Friendly. I've been coming to Zilya and her team for years. I first met them when they were located in the Calhoun Beach Club (little known fact). I followed Zilya to this newer location in uptown 5 years ago. Zilya herself is incredible, one of the few true artists I've met......but that also makes her pricier than others. So....I switched to one of her staff who studied under her and was trained by her. My color always ends up looking incredible no matter what (I tend to switch often), not to mention I don't have to pay as high of a sum since I get them done with Jessica. Anyway, I would definetly recommend for cuts and colors. I've only tried massages for spa services ( which deserves a review in and of itself) but i haven't tried facials.......
