Plants and stand-up vintage hair dryers decorate the front window of this funky corner spot. Two longtime friends, neither named Stella, operate the only two chairs in the place. They've cultivated a hominess in the salon's one, wide-open room. Case in point: A waiting area with comfy pink couch and coffee table loaded with magazines. The clientele runs the gamut, as Target executives and high school students alike come for the popular cuts and colors.

I was looking all over the cities for a good stylist. Alas I had to drive all the way out to Elk River from Fridley to get a cut from someone I was comfortable with. That was a bit far for me to drive, so I kept searching. I stumbled across citysearch and typed in haircut, or something to that effect. And wha-la! Up popped Salon Stella, it had rave reviews so I thought I'd give it a shot. I made an appointment with Jamie and I'm glad I did, she did an awesome job and I've been going to her ever since. It's been almost a year since my first cut and foil, she does both very well. The salon itself is very inviting with a retro feel and tons of character. Seriously give this salon a try if you are as frustrated as I was trying to find a really good stylist.
Pros: Comfortable atmosphere, friendly service and talented hair stylists
Cons: A bit on the pricier side, but I believe you get what you pay for.

After bouncing from place to place, stylist to stylist, (and years of cutting my own hair in between) my hair and I have found our match in Moe from Salon Stella. In a few short moments Moe connected with my hair, she could see the issues I may struggle with and offered me options I could handle. She cut my hair not only with a style in mind, but with me in mind. I am a no fuss kind of gal with a need for great style, and Moe delivers!! I will be bringing my hair and myself back to salon stella, again and again!
