In Short – Plants and stand-up vintage hair dryers decorate the front window of this funky corner spot. Two longtime friends, neither named Stella, operate the only two chairs in the place. They've cultivated a hominess in the salon's one, wide-open room. Case in point: A waiting area with comfy pink couch and coffee table loaded with magazines. The clientele runs the gamut, as Target executives and high school students alike come for the popular cuts and colors.

Again, Nikol is amazing. I told her about the bad things that happened to my hair in the past at the hands of various stylists. I let her know exactly what I wanted. She's a TERRIFIC listener. I ended up with the best cut and color, better than I could imagine. I kid you not, I have never seen my hair look so full and shiny. Love it. LOVE IT. I was scared to go in today because, in the past, when I've switched stylists, things have gone terribly wrong. My last stylist, who I liked, reduced her hours so much that I could no longer see her. I went on citysearch looking for places with decent reviews and took a shot with Salon Stella. I'm so so so glad I did. HIGHLY recommend.

New Kid On The Block

I' ve been a client of Stella for about 4 years and I've never had anything but a wonderful experience every time I've been in. Up until a few months ago I always went to Jamie, who is incredibly talented and just cool to chat with. When Jamie took some time off to have her beautiful baby girl, I took that as an opportunity to get to know the newest member of the Stella Team, Jon.
I've been a fan of Jon's, as a musician, for years so I was excited to see if his musical talent translated to his work as a stylist. All I can say is I was impressed. Jon gave me the exact cut I was looking for and the time flew by swapping music stories (ask him about playing Wembley Stadium!). I was so happy with my cut that I've been going back to Jon ever since. Schedule an appointment with him before the secret's out!

Jon ROCKS!

By chance fate led me to Jon very early in his career as a student! I sat down with a huge head of super thick, heavy shapeless hair. As he led me to his station I said – if you are afraid of the “razor and creativity” we will not blend well together! He looked at me with a smile and said “NOT A PROBLEM”. SCORE! Let’s just say that Jon created a look for me that made all of the gal pals at the school green with envy! The cut was fantastic, creative and most of all fit my personality and lifestyle! Since then Jon has been cutting my hair exclusively! On a recent visit to Salon Stella, he was super excited to try out a new technique that he had been researching from world famous Nick Arrojo (“What Not to Wear”), he asked me if I minded… I will just say that I trust Jon so much that it was not a problem and the technique helped control the bulk so much for my heavy hair! Salon Stella is a warm, chic salon nestled in a quaint Northeast neighborhood. The salon is very relaxing and serene, and the music is always enjoyable and subtle. JON ROCKS!!!

The best place EVER!

I love Salon Stella!! It isn't some yuppie uptown or suburban salon. It's very down to earth and relaxed. I get my hair done by Moe, who is AWESOME! She's really good at listening to what I want, even when I'm not sure. She's super cool and fun to talk to. I would highly recommend her to anyone. I feel really lucky to have found this place!

Kol is a true artist!

I just got my hair colored by Kol at Salon Stella and felt compelled to write a review to get the word out.
I am super picky about my hair and finally I found someone who can deliver. First of all a word about the salon, very cute place...you feel like you are in your friends living room rather than a salon. Comfortable, trendy and inviting. Regarding Kol she absolutly the best! She really listens to what you want and goes out of her way to achieve the exact results you are looking for. Not eveyone out there doing hair should be...but that is not the case with the staff at Salon Stella, you can tell these people are the best at what they do. With Kol you can relax and feel at ease that a true artist is working her magic...and you will be thrilled with the results! I would urge anyone who is picky about their hair or passionate about their color to visit Kol, you will be glad you did.
