Don't trust anything about them. Don't give them a cent! Not the way to lose weight.

If you read nothing else, please don't go! Do not give them any $! There are people & programs exceedingly better, (but really any other program besides this fake one who only wants to rip you off & shame you in the process!) First went to LAWL in Mankato a few years ago. Thought I'd give it a try, I'd never heard anything about it.The clinic like atmosphere along with the employees wearing all white lab coats, makes one think this is a valid weight loss center with educated people on nutrition and weight loss. Wrong! It's all just a cover up.The real deal with all LAWL employees is they're hard sales on commission.They go to a 3 wk training about selling the prog. "if they cry, they buy" nothing about nutrition or counseling (but yet they do 1:1 counseling--just to hard sell you on their prodcuts, especially their bars) Read the 20/20 report online about LAWL,The story, I went into Mankato's site, they pushed me to buy the program, for ten pounds would have been $800! I declined. She pushed with their credit card, anyroom on my own cc? any student loan? any tax refund? When I firmly said no. She said, "I guarantee if you walk out this door without signing up you will gain 10lbs!" So recently when seeing the new ads for LAWL, I decided to give my local place a new try in Minnetonka by Ridgedale. I explained fear of the hard sell & shaming etc., so I thought this might be better. My husband & I were firm that to sign up I did not want bars, needed accoutability & enouragement.Still she pushed,but ageed, no bars. period. She said she'd call 1x/wk if I didn't come in. She agreed to account. & encourg. Only reason we signed b/c she agreed. LAWL went against all of this. No phone calls, HARD sell, Shaming me and my husband and now we're trying to get our $ back and they are giving us the run around, refuse to give contact numbers, only they will tell someone to call, the manager & her manager are not following through.Read all the reviews. 20/20 and rip off report

Don't believe the hype

I was really excited after seeing the commercials, but really disappointed with the service. You are told that you will have counselors to help you through the process, but these are not trained people, only people following the program themselves. You are not told anything about the program until after you pay the fee for the entire program, which is quite substantial. Once you start the program you see that you cannot eat all the foods that you like, even though the commercials and the initial sales people tell you that you can. I expected portions to be restricted, but not entire food groups. Eating out was nearly impossible! And I have never heard of a weight loss program that does not encourage exercise. The diet may work for some people, but if it doesn't work well for you the counselors are very accusatory rather than supportive. After I told the center that I didn't think the program was for me (and I didn't even ask for a refund, since you sign a contract in the beginning), I was harassed by phone for almost a year by people asking me why I wasn't coming in for my weigh-ins. I continually told them that I had found a different program that worked better for me and to please stop calling. One of the people actually said to me, Good luck with your obesity! I finally needed to write a letter threatening legal action for harassment before the phone calls stopped.
