Great Ambiance and Fantastic DJ's on the Weekends!. If you don't know by now there seems to be construction at Calhoun Sq. As me and my friend were taking a shortcut to get in the mall around 11pm we came across a quaint little loungy spot named Aura. We were on our way to the independent upstairs and all of a sudden we both looked at each other and started bobbing our heads. The DJ was playing some great old school 70's funk! I loved it! I felt like i was in a Tarantino movie. We pulled up to the bar and had 2 strong cocktails as we talked about our work week. Our server was a lovely lady named Vanessa! We proceeded to go to the independent but left soon afterwards, we liked the ambiance of Aura much better. When we got back the DJ was playing some cool 80's then some great classic hip-hop and funk. We had so much fun we went back the next night. To end the night the DJ played "rockin around the xmas tree"! It's so nice to go to a place to hear music and there is no stuck-up DJ into himself playing all night. So in closing check out Aura for it's un meat market feel, strong drinks, friendly waitstaff and fantastic DJ's on Fridays and Saturdays! I'm sold!

PS I was told they have great food as well, need to get there earlier next time!

Great Happy Hour and Nice Ambience. I just discovered Aura and it's Happy Aura a month ago and have been back 5 times since my first visit and I'm sure I'll be back plenty more times!! It's a great little place for the neighborhood and is independently owned. I like the pizzas, but also their regular menu is good and affordable. Drinks are cheap and can get pretty busy, especially late. I definitely recommend this place!

Terrible before I even made it there. I called to inquire about the restaurant and the receptionist there hung up on me. Needless to say, I won't be going there anytime soon.

Empty for a reason. We went here for happy hour last night and it was pouring rain and the place was empty. Once we ordered our drinks at the bar, we were scolded by the server that we could not have them there if we were going to sit at a table and he would carry them to where we would sit. When he did bring us our drinks, he scolded us for not making a reservation for our happy hour drinks since we had over 6 people that may be coming to the bar for a drink. Then the server said he would be adding a 20% gratuity to the check since this was obviously going to be a group over 6 people. There were 5 of us. The place was empty, and we were at the bar area for happy hour. We finished our drinks and left not very happy from the happy hour.

Great bar. A little smaller than normal bars, but it's nice because the music isn't deathly loud that you can't hear your friends. The three cheese pizza is awesome, if you're hungry and want to get something to eat. Their happy hour is great; the people who come to Aura seem more like they're coming to hang out with friends instead of trying to pick people up. I high recommend this place.

Great service. SMALL! I went on a Saturday night and the place was dead. Its decor is very nice- very intimate. This would be a good place to go with a group of friends because it would be like having your own private bar and thats always fun. The service was fantastic and the drinks were strong! I like more action and more faces to mingle with so it really wasnt for me, but it could be with a larger crowd.

Surprisingly good food!. I'd been to Aura in its days as '101 blue' and generally always saw the place as a bar rather than a restaurant. When they changed the name, a girlfriend and I thought we'd go again to check out the food. Phenomenal!! I was a little shocked to be honest. I guess I had never really eated here before because I couldn't imagine the food would be too great considering the bar decor, but no! I was totally wrong. I have to say that for the price and location, the food is incredible. This is a steal!! Plus, the service and ambience are great too. I HIGHLY recommend Aura.
