I've gone here a number of times and almost every time I've gotten a comp because of either bad food or mistakes. The last time I went was the very last - I ordered a regular burger and asked for it medium. It came out so overdone I couldn't eat it. Now I know where the "hockey puck" expression came from. I kept going back because I know mistakes happen, and I wanted to like the place. But every time they overcook the burgers, forget what you ordered or make some other mistake. At least the manager tries to make up for it. But no more - I've found much better places.
- Pros: Big place, attentive managers
- Cons: Food
Consistently the best!

The burgers are fabulous-juicy and delicious-amazing hand-cut fries and a lot of other great casual offerings- greatatmosphere neighborhood feel!
Best burgers I've EVER had... and that's saying something.

I love food... period. But most of all, I consider myself an afficionado of burgers. Every place I travel to, I have to try the highest recommended burger places... but none have been able to de-throne Shamrock's which is in my own backyard of St. Paul, MN (owned by the same burger-experts who run The Nook - which is more popular, but same food). You have to love grease and you have to love meat to really appreciate this masterpiece. My first experience was The Nook challenge (2 Double Burger baskets w/ fries - at 1/3 lb per patty, we're talkin' 1-1/3 lb of beef) and I have the photo and t-shirt (which I display like a badge of honor) to prove I finished this monstrous meal. Any other burger and I wouldn't have been able to finish it... but it is so frickin' good... I almost wanted more... almost. If you're looking for the best-ever burger, look no further... stop reading this, get in your car and drive to St. Paul.
- Pros: Best burger I've EVER had
- Cons: (none)
