Woodbury >Massage Envy
NEVER GOING BACK! I received a coupon in the mail and happend to have a gift card from a friend sooo I called wanting to set up an appt for a facial then a massage due to the fact I had a $100 gift card- well they couldn't do them both the same day for over a week soo I scheduled my facial Sunday which the lady would not stop talking during the entire appt, than i go to pay and the check out girl says i OWE $7!!! I tell them it is suppose to have $100 on it and if thats the case cancel my appt for tomorrows massage-- oh no we'll figure it out don't worry either way we will take care of it! So i come in the next day for my massge which WAS good, but they still haven't figured out the dang gift card... they let me go home and tell me they'll call me well they never do and i check my bank account a few days later and they charged me for the massage!!!! seriously unorganized!!! never going back!
Disappointing customer service..
So, I have to confess, I'm not usually a "review" kind of a person, but when I left Massage Envy Woodbury I told myself I would not be returning for a while... a long while. I acknowledge that the massages/facials are okay, but it was the service at checkout that left me speechless.
While I was waiting to checkout, there were at least 4 situations which arose that the employees behind the counter were unprepared to handle. It seemed as though the manager, and possibly one other employee, were trained in how to handle daily functionings.
Yes, obscure things DO happen, but not this many. To an outsider, it seemed as though several of these issues could have been avoided. One client was scheduled with an esthetician when wanting a massage therapist, then she had to wait for 1/2 an hour to receive her massage due to the mix-up, to another client either being told the wrong time on her confirmation phone call or an employee not scheduling correctly. It left me feeling unsure as to how they managed to get my appointment correct!
Returning clients were becoming visibly upset by having to re-fill out information forms as well. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe this is due to updating files? A couple of clients were given incorrect forms to fill out (facial/massage confusion). Another person wanted free samples of items...
After some of the confusion cleared, I attempted to pay and leave a tip. However, something strange happened to the computer, and she (the manager) was not on the screen she needed to be on. At that point I decided to leave the last of my cash to cover the upgrade and the tip for Sara, who provided me with a nice calming enzyme facial, and leave.
I tried this location due to it being a "spa" and having the option to upgrade to a facial. I think I will stick with my regular 'ol Massage Envy until my membership is done.
I've been twice now....it's ok.
I've been to Massage Envy twice now since I was given a gift card . The massages are reasonably priced and are in my opinion no frills basic massage. I've had a whole spectrum of massages from highend spas all the way down to the little beach tents in Mexico. I have to say Massage Envy leaves alot to be desired.
I got suckered into the membership (they must train the desk girls to avoid telling people it is a 12 month minimum membership)
I went in a couple weeks ago for 1.5 hour massage and was assigned a random girl. There was very little discussion before the massage, thequestion she asked was :"why are you here?" when they should be asking if there are areas to focus on, areas I don't want touched, medical concerns etc. This girl didn't even ask about pressure or anything. Anyway, she started by massaging my face (which I typically don't like because people's hands on my face kind of grosses me out, but I just went with it).... her hands smelled so strongly of smoke I almost gaged. It's her choice to smoke, but all I could think was her hands were not clean or they wouldn't smell like that. After letting her know i prefer not to have my face rubbed she moved to my neck and did this awful painful rough pushing on the sides of my throat. She keptpushing harder and harder on this spot on the delecate side of my neck on what I'm pretty sure was pushing on an artery.
The rest of the massage was a mix between painful and unpleasant. I guess I shouldnt expect much since it's a chain company but it almost feels like these people have little or no training in what they are supposed to be doing.
Once my membership is up I'm not renewing. It's not even worth the $45/month.
See Marie. affordable massage, marie does wonders for my chronic pain syndrome, migraine, and neck injuries. haven't tried other therapists there but i might.
