Great but be patient and read the fine print.
I have been going here for 2 years now and it has taken that long to find a therapist that I love. Your first massage may be the worst of your life (I have had a couple of those) and it is definitely frustrating, but for the price it may be worth trying another therapist. I have seen A LOT of complaints about policies, etc...READ THE FINE PRINT! Fun? No. But you need to be a responsible consumer and read it otherwise you won't know you just signed a year contract that you can't get out of.
Best therapists by far: Gwyn and Amy D. Hopefully these ladies stay around for awhile, they are definitely the best of them all!
Thank you for your post! Yes, sometimes it's hard to find the right therapist, but do be patient. Like any good relationship, it can take time to develop rapport with the right therapist. Don't give up. With over 30 therapists, we can find one for almost anyone.
As with any agreement, do read it and ask questions. We are happy to explain. And we agree, Gwyn and Amy are terrific!
Poor Customer Service!!!. I have a gift card to use so I scheduled an appointment at the Vadnais Heights location. I had to cancel (7 hours in advance) and a Shoshanda, (spelling?) was rude to me about it and said I would be charged $20.00 because that is their policy. When I initially called and spoke to an Ashley yesterday, the "policy" was never mentioned to me. For a first timer there, the "policy" should have been discussed on the initial phone call yesterday, otherwise charging someone (if that spot doesn't fill) is asinine! Shoshanda was huffy with me, seemingly annoyed by me for bringing up the fact that the 20 bucks won't be coming from me if the spot does not fill but should be coming out of Ashley's paycheck for not filling me in on the policy rule. I hope in the future the girls on the phone show a little more respect to potential new customers, and that for each new client that calls the "policy" will be discussed to prevent future confusion/error. I will use my gift card, just not at this location now. As a person who's career revolves around great customer service, I expect the same in return. Thank you for reading! Heather
You Get What You Pay for....
1.) good luck canceling your membership! the ever-changing, underpaid, and poorly trained front desk staff will "lose" your faxes, cancellation forms, and consistently disconnect your calls once you decide to cancel your membership. i started the process a month ago, and i still haven't had my cancellation form processed. also, be aware that in addition to losing your paperwork, they will still charge you for the next billing period after your cancellation notice has been received.
2.) your therapists range from "uncomfortable around women", "constant head cold", to "no english spoken here". while good massage therapists do start at massage envy, no one of any talent, ambition, or dedication stays here. for good reason! therapists take home an average of 12.00 an hour after the parent organization gouges that 49.00 fee and tips! be forewarned that if you find one you like, odds are they wont be around often (if they have a private practice or 2nd job) or next month (if they get fed up with making peanuts for working 9 back to back 50 min appointments!).
3.) on the more positive side - scheduling is very convenient. if you want a same day appointment, if you are persistent you can get what you want in terms of time and therapist. just be aware that because massage envy doesnt pay their staff (particularly front desk) a living wage, most people you talk to will be new, and not particularly knowledgeable. rest assured, the large staff pool guarantees that somebody will be there to give you massage. be prepared for variable quality.
4.) its a bargain to get a massage for 49.00...and it really shows at massage envy!
Editorial Review. Massage Envy offers membership packages for relaxing sessions to soothe the body and mind.
Best massage deal around!. If you are someone who likes to get a regular massage then massage envy is the place to go! The massage lasts 50 minutes and if you sign up for a year, you pay only $49 a month for the 50 minute session. If you like to go more than once a month, it only $39.00 per massage after that !! The ambience at the Vadanais Location is relaxing and soothing. The employees are friendly and well trained. It is the best spent $49.00 each month and I always look forward to it!
