Less than expected.
Alright alright, just got back from a party there. I was trying to plan a surprise birthday party there, planned weeks in advance and did not get an answer until an hour before it was scheduled (its a small place, but seriously come on they kept giving me different people to call and stuff, messages didn't get passed on etc i talked to them about 12 times on the phone)
When I got there, there weren't enough chairs for everyone even though I made reservations and not everyone showed up! So there should have been EXTRA chairs. But I was short about 4.
I told the people in advance we'd be there from 7-9. They said that was JUST fine. Apparently it was not because the staff was continuously pestering us about anything. They would come out and just stare. We weren't being obnoxious. I asked for seperate checks specifically and nope, they didn't give one.
ONE LAST THING, VERY IMPORTANT THOUGH. I am allergic to shellfish. I KNOW I KNOW its a sushi restaurant, but I am not dangerously allergic, my throat will swell and be super sore and I'll get a rash if i eat an entire crabcake, but I can breathe fine and nothing past that. So, I order sushi with tuna. I FOUND A SHRIMP TAIL IN IT! 1. Why was there a SHRIMP tail in sushi? 2. Why was there a shrimp tail in TUNA SUSHI?
It is fairly cheap for a sushi place... for 6 small rolls it is about $6. Entrees are about $12.
NOT THAT GREAT! Was not impressed with my sushi (Prairie roll). Chose a different place! I think there is a good sushi place in Excelsior.
Little Sushi, long wait, big price, no good!. I get better sushi at Kowalski's and it costs a lot less. The only good thing was the 22oz. Japanese beer.
be careful about your food.
Went there two months ago, ordered Tempura Udono for dinner, found sth like a bunch of black hair cooked inside. Was offered 20% off.
I made a very stupid decision to try it again today with my co-workers and found a big dead Ant with sashimi in my lunch box. I didn't pay this time and didn't hear even a "sorry" from the waitress. She just quickly removed the box and argued with me late that it's sth else but not an ant. I should make a pic.
Anyway, it's so disgusting, will never never go there again. Their license should be revoked.
Love it !!!.
OK...so seriously I hesitated for a bit before deciding to write about this place because I don't want it to be super crowded, which I fear it will be once the word gets out that it's one of the best sushi places I've been to,
This place is tucked away in a tiny little strip mall It's pretty hard to find because all it says on the outside is 'Sushi' & it doesn't look that appealing. The inside has typical Japanese decor but one thing stands out & that's the gong that you hear when there's a big groupi of people taking a shot. The Sushi Chef pours this drink in a small cup & stacks shots of sake on top. They're all lined up in a row so that when one is dropped in, the rest fall in like a domino effect. It's pretty cool to watch, especially when you're drunk. HAH!!
It was my first time here so my buddy Ryan H. picked everything for me to try. Seems Ryan knows One of chef /Billy/. The first thing I had was the crunchy roll. It was some tempura shrimp roll thing w/ tempura flakes topped with sauce thing. OMFG it was f*ing delicious!! The little pieces were the best. I also had this called the Screaming Orgasim . I wanted to try it because it was called "ORGASiM" &...well...while I still have no idea why it's called that....I did fall in love with this item too. It's sashimi tuna smothered with this citrus-y sauce that kind of tasted like a sweet vinaigrette that should be a salad. Anyway, that dish is a definite must try. The last dish I had was this strawberry lobster roll w/ some kind of brown sauce (I'm thinking it's eel sauce?) over it. It wasn't as good as the Crunchy Roll but it was still damn good.
As much as I L-O, L-O, L-O-V-E this place, I do have to say that they're service is a bit slow. Trust me, the food (that I mentioned above) is just that good that it's seriously worth the wait.!
Best sushi in town.
I come to little sushi since they opened, Always food was good, servers are okay until recent Chef Billy opened my eyes. Everynow I go there Billy makes defferent Special dishes for me.
HANDS DOWN TO CHEF BILLY
Great Sushi Togo. Skip Dining In!. I have been going here since it open. The sushi is fantastic. I would give it 5 stars, but the ambiance is horrible. The look is very cold. Not very romantic. I like to eat my sushi in a relaxing atmosphere. They always forget to put on the music, therefore you hear everyones conversation. If I want good sushi and atmosphere, I got to Yumi's in Excelsior. If I want quick togo sushi that is very good, I go to Little Sushi. If you go, ask for John. He is a great waiter. Very helpful and attentive.
