It was my first time at this club and I really liked the bartendars. They were all super nice and were pretty fast at getting me and my friends drinks. Although, the bathrooms were all out of toiletries so that was kind of annoying.
RACIST. So me and my inlaws went there for a Bday party, we got there early, and the dude, probably a adopted asian kid was checking i.d. and told my inlaw that there's a "STRICT NO WHITE SHOES POLICY" we had to go through the trouble of getting him a black shoes.(STUPID US!) 1hr later, we went back to the bar when our party got there, a white kid infront of us had white shoes on and got in, we then question him and he was speaking jiberish, then the we saw that 50% of the people in there (black, white) had white shoes on. for the record we're Hmong. and without us there the place was dead, I know alot of place here in MN is RACIST against Hmong people, but we give them the best Business, we don't sit there and spend 1hr to drink a beer, we buy by the case and drink in less then 1 min.
overrated. So the only reason I went to barfly was because Spin was closed for remodeling. Worst experience I have ever had in Minneapolis. Most people were standing around looking awkward and those dancing should not have been doing so. I felt like I was at a high school prom without the formal wear. The music was some impossible-to-dance-to type of techno. and the dj kept cutting the song half way through. I saw a girl get a drink thrown on her just because she turned him down. The bathrooms were very dirty. I would not suggest this place to anyone wanting to have a good time.
Best bang for my buck Downtown!.
Hadn't been to this place for a year or so and last time I was there my experience wasn't terrible, but it wasn't awesome either. I figured I'd give it another shot since it'd been a while and they're still in business. Glad I did. This place is a hidden secret in downtown.
Though not as fancy as some others, this place is quite laid back and you don't have to be around 'stuffy' people all night that have nothing to prove except their overpriced clothes. I was able to enjoy the drink special for part of the night, hang out with some friends, and dance for under $20! I definitely will visit more frequently than I did before.
to all you haters out there..... i agree, i don't get where all these awful reviews came from. my roomate wanted to go out clubbing. i just moved here a couple months ago but shes a st. paul local. we went to bar fly on a saturday, got really cheap drinks for most of the night and had a great time getting all dressed up to go dancing. i'd definitly go back! really cool set up.
Great Place to Have a Birthday party. My cousin's birthday was coming up and I wasn't sure how I wanted to plan her birthday party. I saw on the Bar Fly website that there was a "Free Birthday" button. I called them up, and was pleasantly surprised with the amazing night Bar Fly was able to help me, my cousin, and our whole party have. I'd highly recommend anyone planning a birthday party soon to call Bar Fly, who can host a great party. They even decorated our table for her birthday! Can't wait to go back soon.
pretty good atmosphere. Nice exciting environment. Crew there very energetic and fun. Nice set up and easy to maneuver. Great music and the crowd is classy. People actually dance there and have fun in a classy manner. Not really any rude sloppy drunks there acting a fool. They keep things under control.Positive experience.
Bikini Contest. We went there on a Wednesday for the Bikini Contest and there were people ready to party everywhere! The crowd that night was exceptionally fun to be around. Highly recommended and we will be back for the grand finals on the 26th!
Beer Pong Tournament. I just signed up for the beer pong tournament that is about to take place! Can't wait! I am a hard cord Bar Fly and I just don't understand where all the hating came from?
It's got my approval.
I've been a lot of places and seen a lot. In the sceme of things this place is pretty cool.
They had some deal with coins (like pennys and dimes) that any coin would get us any drink. We got real drunk for under $5.
The only thing I could see to make the place better is more bass. I love bass.
