I recently had positive experiences
with Blue Pearl as they twice treated our 16 year-old cat, George’s throat stricture apparently caused by extended treatment with Clindamycin. Balancing our cat’s comfort, chance of recovery, recovery period versus age and dignity has haunted us since Christmas. Other than the throat stricture he’s in very good health.
We initially resisted this procedure though through extensive research found the prospects, though not ideal, to be worth a try. It’s a leap of faith to take a sick animal who cannot speak to a stranger for a complicated procedure.
My home and office are in St. Cloud and are 90 minutes from Blue Pearl. On one of the two visits, I worked in their lobby (my own wireless) which was comfortable, had great coffee and a caring staff greeting emergencies throughout the day. George needed compounded medication and Blue Pearl explained the typical timing, then worked with a pharmacy in Sartell so we could get it the next day.
I can say without a doubt, whether George makes it to recovery or not, that I can’t envision having a better experience during this difficult process.
Terrible Follow-Up!!.
Completely disappointed in this Vet Clinic! I brought my dog into the Eden Prairie office on a Friday afternoon at 2pm. After a more involved procedure than what was originally scheduled (they aspirated 2 organs, instead of the one planned), which I was fine with, if it looked suspicious. Vet told me the lab results are sent to Chicago at 5pm that night and that we would have the results in on Saturday afternoon. If weather got bad, then the Vet would call 1st thing Monday morning. It's now almost 1pm on Monday, no results, Vet is in a procedure and will call me when she is done. What am I supposed to do with my dog who might need surgery this afternoon? Continue to withhold food and water? One would think that after paying $1000.00 on Friday for the first round of procedures, that if the Vet who you saw for 15 minutes the Friday before was busy, another partner would be calling to help get you the results. In the meantime, my dog continues to suffer while we still wait, almost 72 hours after the labs were drawn!
My general Vet had recommended that we go to Blue Pearl as they 'specialize' in imaging. Next time, NEVER coming back, will have my regular vet do the procedure in their office as there is NOTHING "special" about this clinic. If I could rate this clinic, with a negative number, I would! Only thing going for this clinic is the front desk staff at the Eden Prairie office was very friendly. But, I could have had that and the lab results 2 days ago (on Saturday) if I would have stayed with my regular Vet! SO FRUSTRATED!
poor care. horrible care, attempt to suck money away from people without concernt ath the dog would be any better off. already had scheduled to put to sleep. they drug it out and made her suffer an additional two weeks, then wanted to do surg at a very expensive price, but the dog would be the same. Why do that? horrible place and horrible care.! wouldnt take my worst enemy there!
