I had to file a letter of complaint to the MN Board of Vet. I urge anyone else who has a complaint about this vet or ANY vet to file a letter of complaint to the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine at vetmed.state.mn.us

Here's what happened to me:

On the 7th of August, I bought in my two cats to get their shots at Petco in Brooklyn Park. The vet there, from the Animal Medical Clinic, PA, at 2603 Hennepin Ave. S, in Minneapolis, MN was extremely fierce with my black cat.

The vet had asked for a towel to cover my cat. But instead of waiting for the towel, he forced his body down onto my cat.

(I have NEVER seen my cat so scared and in so much pain that he would peed himself). Because of how this vet forced m...y cat down (we thought that the was going to kill him), my cat bit him. Then he went into the next room to swear.

The gals there and I even asked why he didn't wait for the towel. Even before he forced himself onto the cat again, the gal who was there, asked why he didn't wait for a towel.

I didn't know if he was trying to prove something by not using a towel, I don't know.

The vet was quite rude and told the gal that we needed to pay and leave. Which we did.

I told the gal that I would be writing a letter of complaint, which I did and sent it off to Petco, the Animal Medical Clinic, and the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine. All were cc'd in the letter so they all knew who I wrote to.

They should have received that on the 10th...which is the exactly the day the vet called the police to report my cat biting him.

To me, this is retaliation. If this vet was so concerned about the pet bit, why wait three days before reporting it? It should have been reported on the 7th.

The police officer came to see me and my cat. And as he saw, my cat is one of the most sweetest and most gentle cats around. :)

I will NEVER step foot in Petco again, and I urge people to go elsewhere for their pets' shots. I hope this never happens to anyone else's furry child.

Depends on the vet. When I went here the first time, I saw the head vet - a wonderful woman who seemed to care a lot about me and my new cat - friendly and warm with both of us, and also very clear and patient in explaining things to me.

When I went back the next two or three times, I saw a younger male vet. Honestly -- he seemed not to like animals! Each time, he displayed zero compassion for my cat, sort of "man-handled" him and spoke about him in a dismissive way, and then also seemed not to care at all about my concerns about cost. He also gave me some dubious info about medications - dubious if only because he seemed so bored to be talking about it that I couldn't be sure it was the full picture. The admin staff was nice enough, but he was so off-putting, I won't go back.
