Outstanding operation.
I am a dry cleaner from Chicago, who has visited plants all over the country. More recently, I've been investigating environmentally friendly dry cleaning processes so that I can convert my own
operation, and I was told that I simply must go see Prestige Cleaning Center in MN.
Joe and Tad, the 2nd and 3rd generation dry cleaners who own the operation, invited to observe this plant, and I have to say that I was so thoroughly impressed that I am coming back to Chicago with the intent of modeling my own cleaning systems after what they do here.
The first thing that struck me was the professionalism - everyone was in uniform, I was greeted at the counter by friendly smiling faces. Next, I was introduced to Joe and Tad, who immediately took me through their plant. As someone who has seen many operations, I can tell you that these guys are doing things right. They have everything covered - from the top notch equipment, to the proper stain removing agents, to (most importantly) the experienced staff. I believe they have staff that have been there for decades.
I took some difficult items with me (i.e. - clothes with difficult stains to remove), and on every piece they did an amazing job. My hope is that I can eventually train my staff to do the job that these guys do.
Bottom line, if you are looking for an outstanding cleaner in Minneapolis, look no further - Prestige Cleaning Center should be your dry cleaner.…
Interested in destroying your clothes? Try this place.. Beware! The youths at the counter do not care to take notes regarding clothing (i.e. please be careful of the buttons) - it's simply a drop off and we'll see you when it's time to pay type of operation. Two weeks ago I had a mint dress come back from Prestige with a) one button missing its fabric cover b) one button ripped off leaving a hole in the dress and c) one button crushed like it had been pinched by a pair of pliers. The buttons were metal covered in a padded fabric matching the dress and I have no way to replace them. My second dress had the shoulder RIPPED OUT OF IT and all I got was a note that said, in effect, "we've seen the damage." Ridiculous. Just incredibly unprofessional. I'll have to take my dress to a tailor now in order to have new shoulders made.…
