In Short – Walk into the tropic oasis and be greeted with a boutique focused as strongly on socially responsible business ethics as on clothing and gifts. Hemp garments in earthy shades hang next to other organic fabrics like silk and cotton. All merchandise showcases businesses that practice fair trade, responsible manufacturing and eco-friendly production. The laid-back Northeast vibe is undeniable as eco-conscious prime-of-life women peruse the fruit-infused lotions, Pure Color jeans (an Oprah favorite) and Key-lime goodies.
Two ladies who are as socially responsible as they are friendly.

Located on the corner of a busy street, you would probably pass right by Key North if you didn't have a GPS -at least for the out-of-town visitor. Key North is owned and operated by 2 local women, Katie and Gwen. When I first entered the store I wasn't greeted for about 10 minutes and by that time I had about 6 items in hand that I wanted to try on. Finally, Gwen welcomed me to the store but didn't ask if she could take the items to the dressing room for me. I think she must have been confused. Once I started trying the clothes on and coming out to look at myself in the mirror, both Gwen and Katie gave me their opinions. They have just celebrated their one year anniversary in business. There's plenty of parking in the back of the store -- the store even has a back door to make it convenient for shoppers. They carry designers like Cynthia Ashby always at 30% off, Cheyenne, Texture sweaters. They are on my list of out-of-town stores to call when looking for Ashby pieces.
- Pros: Carried some of the designers I like: Cynthia Ashby, Cheyenne, Texture sweaters.
- Cons: Owners didn't seem very helpful at first.
