Edina >Paint Your Plate
While the concept is fun, I have to agree with the first 2 posters. The store was "filthy" and someone who worked there made it worse by adding a stench from the bathroom so strong that I thought my eyelashes were falling out. The prices were really high but this being my first time there, I had nothing to compare it to. We were greeted at some point after getting there, picking a table and basically putting our hands in the air until someone who seemed totally out of it gave us a brief overview. I felt like a girlscout who missed the first 30 minutes of the meeting.
I do this a lot because my husband
wants the kids to paint a mug for him every year for Father's Day. I guess it's been at least seven years now. The Edina location is so close to my home but I won't go. I drive all the way to St. Paul now every year.
The staff treats you like you've just barged into their personal home and started painted on their $3,000.00 dining room table. I've also tried the place in Eagen (not this franchise) and it isn't much better. Go to St. Paul. It's not great, but at least you don't get treated like a criminal rather than a customer. Try to deal with the staff in Edina and you'll just be shaking your head in disbelief and thinking "wow..." over and over again.
I went to paint your plate with a couple of friends on a Saturday. I paint pottery frequently, but I had never been here before. They were busy, but we were not even greeted by a staff member. As a matter of fact, no staff members even talked to us until we were paying. Which brings me to the prices, it is quite costly compared to other places in the area, which are in my opinion, far superior.
To top it all off, one of my pieces was broken and clearly glued back together. When it was brought to the attention of a staff member, she told me that it was not her fault and that nobody that works there would do that without informing me. I will NEVER go to paint your plate again. What a disappointing experience.
