The Owner is a JERK. On March 3, 2011 I purchased a deal for a 75 minute facial from The Chair in Minneapolis, MN. I made an appointment a few days after purchasing and was told that because of the popularity of the deal, there were no available times until August. I said I would take the first available appointment and wrote down that my appointment was on August 11 at 11:00am. Through some miscommunication The Chair had my appointment booked for August 10.

I signed in today, the 11th, to print my voucher and it said the vendor had marked it used on the 10th. I realized somehow the dates had gotten mixed up either on my end, or on their end and I had missed my appointment. I called The Chair and explained what happened to the receptionist, she said the owner, Tim, liked to handle the LivingSocial deals and would call me back later that day.

Tim called me back and I explained to him what happened and asked to reschedule. He said he would not reschedule my appointment because they have a 48 hour cancellation policy on the vouchers and he had to stick to it. I told him it was an honest mistake and had somehow gotten the dates wrong. He told me he had paid an aesthetician to be there for 8 hours that day, that 4 people hadn't shown up to their appointments, he was already losing money on the deals even on the people who actually came to their appointments. He was very rude to me and I hung up on him. After this conversation with Tim, I do not want to reschedule with The Chair, I will not be going there ever again, and I will be telling my friends about the rudeness of their owner.

I emailed LivingSocial and asked for a full refund. Don't support a jerk like this.

So glad I made the drive!. I was tired of the big corporate salons and decided to try this salon on high recommendation from a friend (and she had the cutest haircut I have ever seen!). I am so glad I did. I got a same day appointment, on a Saturday, and Bridget was so patient with me (as I tend to walk in not having a clue what I want done!) I came out with a super cute cut and a great color, and for much less that I have paid in the past. I loved the funky, laid-back atmosphere and the small, personal feel. I will definitely be back!

Great place for hair. I love the Chair for it's funky vibe, reasonable prices, and great hairstylists. I get my hair cut and highlighted, and Laura & Heidi have done a great job with my thick, wavy hair. The color has turned out fabulous. I would highly recommend this salon!

Best wedding updo. This was the most unique updo I have ever had. My stylist (heaven forbid..I forgot her name!) suggested on the day of my wedding to "sew" my updo. She seemed to know what she was talking about : ) So we did it! It turned out amazing....using string to "sew" your hair keeps the updo in place SO much longer than bobby pins and you don't have the pain of having bobby pins poking into your head all night long. All you have to do to take it out is to cut the string and take out the few bobby pins she did use.

I have gotten my hair cut here as well and haven't been disappointed.

Cute, little boutique with very funky decorations.

I'd recommend this place to anyone!
