No longer the good old days. Used to be my favorite place to hang out and shoot pool. Played leagues out of here for 5-6 years two nights per week. Then one of the owners (Ty) left and it all went to hell. It is obvious that they want to be known as a "kiddie club" and not a pool hall. No happy hour for pool players but if you are sitting at the bar (not paying for a table) you get drink specials. Hard to concentrate on pool with the mostly terrible singers screaming karaoke as loud as possible. They are always moving the tables for a dance floor (yeah in a pool hall) and they never get them properly balanced again. I've had to stop matches and ask that the table be releveled so that we can shoot a proper game. I am moving my team out of here to a place where the game is taken seriously, Biffs or CR's. Waitresses are for the most part the best you will find, but the ownership is taking it in a direction away from pool. If you want to dance and sing karaoke this is probably a good place but if you want to play pool not so much. Guess "Billiards" went away when they removed it from the name........remember University Billiards. Stooges is perhaps a more appopriate name given where they are headed.…
Bad service. My friends and I have been going to stooges off and on for roughly a year and have always been pleased with their service and enjoy the five alarm fridays; some of our good friends gogo dance there. We recently went there to hang out shoot some pool and dance a little bit but we were treated very poorly. They have new "security" there and they are very rude and are basically tools. We are 20 years old, cause no trouble and just wanted something to do on a Friday night but were treated like trash. I can honestly say that I have never been treated so poorly and will never go back there again.…
Check your credit card statement. I have been to this establishment a couple times - once during non-happy hour (extremely high drink prices, by the way), and once during happy hour (decent specials). Service was good both times (we sat at the bar). On both visits, the bartender asked for a credit card to hold a tab. Fine, no problem. However, on the 2nd visit, I paid for my tab in full with a gift certificate, and tipped 20% in cash. Nothing should have been charged to my credit card. However, when checking my statement a few days later, I saw that my card was charged an odd amount (nothing close to what my bill was). I figured they just made an honest mistake, so I called and talked to the general manager. He pulled up his credit card logs, found my name, found my original tab, but said they did not charge me anything, and that my bank would probably refund it because it was their mistake. All a complete and total lie. How could they pull up my name if I paid with an anonymous gift certficate and paid cash? I did get refunded after I disputed the transaction. I will never go to this bar again. The manager should have admitted they mistakenly charged me, offer an immediate refund, and offer a complimentary drink or something to get me back in their bar. Instead, he chose to lie about it. Not good.…
Happy patron!. I've been going here for a couple of years, and there's a good reason that I do. Great staff overall (a couple could admittedly relearn some basic training, but you find that everywhere) who are very friendly, down to earth and knowledgeable. Deven is my absolute favorite server...been there for years and knows her stuff, she'll remember you. They have free pool for the ladies on Sundays and Tuesdays after a certain time, and drink specials all the time. They have everything for everyone: Karoake, dancing & music w/DJ Extreme, pool tables up the wahoo and darts, trivia, tvs for the sports fans, raffles, live music and fun events that range from mechanical bullriding to Wii contests to an all-male review (don't worry guys, they have Vikings cheerleaders there sometimes, too). I normally don't write reviews like this EVER. But I saw some complaints about the managers being prejudiced against minorities or something. I've never seen any proof of that. I have friends there that are African American, Asian and Hispanic and they're all perfectly happy regulars. Love this place, the staff, the owners, the drinks, the patrons. I'll keep coming back!…
I love the Big Italian Sandwich!. I just had the BEST dinner here last night! The Big Italian Sandwich with waffle fries. OMG. Then we threw some darts and had cheap drinks! Going back this weekend, girls drink FREE.
