It's EXTREMELY hard to get me to write
a review. But I have to ask, why does anyone come here? Because they think it's cool and hip? I guess having an expensive menu with a popular location goes a long way. READ...
Wow, first of all, I went with a party of SIX people. We were all denied service by our waitress because she felt we were too big of a party to serve alcohol too. Which by the way, the group of 12 kids behind us were doing shots standing on the table/chairs/ standing over people while fist pumping, which the management didn't care. The manager, AMY (a bigger blonde on the night of 7/21/2012); did not care AT ALL that we were a table of adults looking to spend up to 300$ on a single order. She simply said, "I stand behind my server refusing to serve you." threatening to have us bounced out if we questioned her. The bouncer looked ashamed like this is what happens on occasion sadly. Embarrassing considering we were all shocked she even resorted to us leaving without question. She didn't take a second to listen to any of us, now we will make sure not one of us/ our friends, ever goes there. I will follow up with the owner(s) and post an update if anything comes.
Simply shocking that we ordered food, while waiting for the drinks to come, to learn that they were never on the way, what terrible awful service. Worst in the twin cities by far.
Best Burger By Far. Great Burgers and good fries.. I had the Good mornig burger my friend had the spicy one? we both ate every bite. Will be back for more .
No respect and terrible food at the whole table.. Last night I received the worst service and food I've ever gotten at a restaurant. The Bulldog in NE was absolutely horrible to our group. They wouldn't serve three of us who were from Alaska because they didn't believe their ID's were real, it took an hour to get food ordered, an hour to get the food, and a half hour for the bill, which she tacked on an automatic (and far too generous tip). My food was burnt, soggy and expired! How do you manage that? My friends ordered medium burgers that came out well done. The hotdogs were disappointing. The server had an attitude the whole time. I will NEVER be going to the Bulldog again.
Disappointing Yet Again. Alright, i've been to the Bulldog a plethora of times over the years. I know places are hit and miss and you need to gve places more than one chance. When i first started going there the food and drinks were much better and higher quality my friends and i loved going there and it was always a good time! I do have to commend them for trying to encorporate all this new food they have, but it's just way too much and unfortunately it takes away from the dishes that made them a sensation in the first place. They do havea great happy hour, staff is nice, but lacking a quippe edge that use to be. The babbling brooks of a few members of the wait staff and the rank BO of others is a bit off putting. Whatever generally it takes a really nasty waitstaff for me not to return to a place and i'm not saying that the staff is that way at all. They do have a pretty nice patio for a sidewalk! Well stop in and hope your experience is a good one, think i need to keep the good memories of the Bulldog and just stop trying to make it anything than what it is now, a sports bar with mediocre food and a good spot to catch a game. Oh but do get a cupcake!
Horrible Service - Someone Could Get Sick.
Went with a large group of about 10 or so. The burgers which were supposed to be done were left a pool of blood on the plate. The buns were soaked with blood. One guest ordered a Philly Steak sandwich and found some of the meat uncooked. How can one not cook a Philly thoroughly? It's thinly slicked meat cooked hard.
The waitstaff spent more time talking to each other and the bartender than actually doing their jobs. When members complained that there medium and medium well burgers were bleeding they acted put off by actually meeting the customers request. Pretty sure that chef burned a burger char-black that was sent back because it was bleeding.
Really Mediocre and Expensive.
wow $50 for a couple of burgers and a couple of beers. Cheese not melted on burger (what kind of cook does this?, I mean come on!). Service slow as usual. I've given this place my business steadily for a couple of years. Now I am done with it.
Highly recommend any of the other establishments in the area instead.
In all fairness, Bulldog in Uptown serves pretty good food, and has better service. So go there instead.
Yum! Cupcakes!. Incredible cupcakes!!! The owner himself actually suggested them! Incredible. Pretty good burgers too.
I heard it was good?? NOT!!!. I love NE! The bartender was busier talking to the waitress then waiting on us. We felt like we were bothering him by being here. I asked the waitress no help there. Will not be back!!! We will enjoy the rest of NE around them!
save your time and money.
If you want to be treated rudely and threatened if you complain, then this place is definitely for you. In their tiny cramped bar area you can enjoy the rude treatment and dismissive condescension from their wait staff, and when they get your order wrong (don't worry--they will) and you ask them to fix it, it will be your fault entirely. Expect them to use profanity on complainers and to physically threaten and intimidate anyone who objects to their poor treatment.
In terms of value for money, you'd be better off eating out of a garbage can (likely healthier and cleaner too)--when your order does finally arrive, expect to feel ripped off. The portions will be small enough that you'll wonder what you're really paying for, the quality of the ingredients will be stale, and you'll just feel like a fool for going there in the first place.
Professionals? Condo-dwellers?.
This place is pretty decent. I like all of the workers; they're cool but not dorks about it. I failed to see any of these professionals, although I don't know if they were just condo-dwellers in disguise. I just saw a bunch of drunks and a few old school skaters.
I like the place and, out of all of what Northeast has to offer, the Bulldog has one of the more unique menus. The food is tasty but nothing will wow you.
