Pints are the order of the day at this high-end hangout bustling with downtown professionals and condo dwellers. The 24 constantly changing tap brews range from limited-edition Belgians to local seasonal microbrews. Those looking to add some protein to their sudsy carbs look to the gastropub's stocked menu of everything from steak tartar to Vienna beef hot dogs. Non-beer lovers drink up the boutique wine list or 22-ounce jumbo cocktails like bloody marys garnished with mini sausage.

This place is pretty decent. I like all of the workers; they're cool but not dorks about it. I failed to see any of these professionals, although I don't know if they were just condo-dwellers in disguise. I just saw a bunch of drunks and a few old school skaters. I like the place and, out of all of what Northeast has to offer, the Bulldog has one of the more unique menus. The food is tasty but nothing will wow you.

On Memorial weekend, my husband and I went to the Bulldog for the first time. Sunday, a.m., we went in, and there really was NO ONE their except 3 other customers. We ordered bloody marys from a waitress, who acted VERY PUT UPON to be working, didn't BOTHER to tell us that there were 2 different kinds. Then, acted very annoyed when we decided not to order food. We looked at the menu, and later decided (on Monday, Memorial Day), to go back and give it a second chance. That was our second mistake. Going the first time was the lst one. My Husband really wanted the chicken and waffles, we sat at the bar, and he proceeded to order, and they told him they were out of this item selection. Well, we kept seeing chicken being served, so finally I asked the bartender, "HOW CAN YOU BE OUT OF CHICKEN AND WAFFLES, WHE I SEE YOU SERVING LOTS OF OTHER CHICKEN SELECTIONS"? His response to me was (as he was throwing out a chicken BASKET with fries), "WE JUST RAN OUT, THAT WAS THE LAST ONE"! WHAT THE HELL DID THAT MEAN?! If an establishment is going to lie to their customers, then how can you trust them to patronize them?! Did they not want to take the time to heat up a waffle iron? Obviously, they had chicken! They LOST two customers with my husband and I, which was a HUGE mistake considering the amount of people I come in contact with on a daily basis. It's NEVER a good idea to treat your customers like IDIOTS!

I went to the Bulldog NE last weekend with a group after a conference. I have been before multiple times and have found that it’s a great place for food and drinks. They are especially great when you are with an unfamiliar group because they have such an amazing menu and beer/wine list, anyone can find something they will love. This is what I was thinking when I brought a group of my coworkers to the Bulldog, (I’m the new guy at the office and was trying to impress). When we arrived, I realized that I had been to the Bulldog NE before, but not on a weekend. It was BUSY. I was convinced that my group (of 10) would never get a table. I started to get that pit in my stomach that you get when you screw up in front of people that trusted your decisions. I spoke with the (very friendly) host and he acknowledged that they were (obviously) busy, and that he would do the best he could. At this point, I still didn’t have high hopes of getting seated and food in any sort of timely manner. My group got drinks at the bar, and chatted. The host checked back with us a number of times which I appreciated, each time joking with us and giving us updates about our table. His outgoing attitude and friendly demeanor really put my coworkers at ease; he even gave us dinner recommendations. After about a half hour we were seated, by this time we had all had a drink and were excited about the food. We were not disappointed, the server knew what she was doing and obviously knew a lot about the food. Everyone found something on the menu, (I personally LOVE the tartar). Everyone was happy and I became king of the office for a night. Thanks for being awesome Bulldog NE!
