Not Recommended-Prices are extremely high! – Although the service was very good, the price was very, very high. Make sure that you shop around before using them. We were charged $1,400 for a simple toilet and flange replacement. The plumber was at our house for 2 and a half hours. Unfortunately, we did not do any price comparisons before allowing their representative to replace the toilet. After looking online and getting other estimates, it was apparent that an average priced toilet ranges from $200-$350 and labor for this type of project should cost, at the most, $350.00. Therefore, it appears that we were overcharged by, to be conservative, $700.00! If anything good can come of this, it is to make sure that nobody else makes the same mistake we did by choosing Bonfe. I have never written a negative review online, but this iniquity was enough to motivate me to compose this message.
Not recommended – I told them on the phone what was wrong. They charged me $89 to come out and tell me they couldn't fix it and then tried to sell me $1000 worth of repairs that other companies can do for a 1/3rd of the cost. What a complete waste of time.
Don't Use Bonfe! – Warning! Bonfe misrepresents their capabilities, tries to up-sell, and doesn’t get the job done. We called Bonfe and asked them if they serviced Bosch dishwashers. The service representative said they were trained to service Bosch and they would send their appliance expert. He came and looked at the dishwasher (without taking it out from the counter), looked where it was leaking thru the floor in the basement, and pronounced that a plumber would have to come out. He told us that he was an aeronautical engineer and showed her a plane that he worked on. Seemed like he knew more about planes than dishwashers. The next day a plumber came and looked under the dishwasher, looked at the leak in the basement, and proclaimed that the plastic housing surrounding the dishwasher was cracked. This was surprising as he hadn’t taken the DW out to verify that was the problem. Instead, he started quoting numbers to replace the DW, tried to sell us an annual maintenance plan, and while he was at it he gave us quotes to replace the water heater. All of the items he quoted were at least $500 and he wanted $3000 for the water heater. We declined to go forward with any work or any of the offers as the whole process didn’t seem right. We called Bosch Service and asked if Bonfe was trained to service Bosch. They told us that Bonfe is not an authorized service representative for Bosch. We asked if Bosch dishwashers have problems with cracked plastic housings – they replied that they don’t have plastic housings. They gave us the name of an authorized service representative and they came out. After pulling the dishwasher out, it was determined that the drain line was damaged and needed to be replaced (about a $100 repair). We called Bonfe and Steve the Service Manager said that Bonfe had failed us and agreed to return our money. But he couldn’t do anything for the time that we wasted waiting for and dealing with their two people who do didn’t anything to solve our leak. In summary, if you want to waste your time and be up-sold, call Bonfe. If not, there are many other reputable companies who will do the job right and not try to sell you overpriced services.
Expensive but they do great work! – I have had a long working relationship with Bonfe and while they are more expensive than a lot of plumbers in the metro area they do good quality work. The plumbers we've used have all been efficient, clean, and do what needs to be done. I recommend them, but negotiate on pricing up front and do take other plumber's bids if you can.
What A Joke – This company over charges- $1,800 to install a 40 gallon hot water heater. Oh, I almost forgot that they do include the water heater. Don't get taken- still had to pay for a $79.00 service visit. What a joke- what a scam of a company. Finally went to Home Depot when all was said and done I saved over $1,000 for the same unit and installation. I actually joined city pages to do this review my first ever but what a JOKE of a company.
poor service – Very poor experience. Stay away! Called for an appointment two days in advance. I called late afternoon day before the scheduled time to check on service. Was told we were good to go. Get home later that day and a message that I had been bumped no service and very little time to get anyone else.
I understand someone needed service,so did I. They do not try to resolve issues. If you call them I would call someone else right away as a back up.
Knew what the problem was – Mike came in knew what the problem was explained it and didn't leave until the gas smell was out of the house.
Tireless work – Many thanks to Mike and Steve for their tireless work.
Honest – Pleasant even after a long day - honest with customer options.
