Better then the best!.
Tiger Sushi in three words: Creative, Fun, & Tasty. I have been to all the "best" sushi restaurants in MN; Sakura, Nami, Oragami, Fuji-ya, Koyi, Sushi Tango, etc. and I've only gone once or twice. If you want your average, plain, sushi; sure, you'll get what you want if you go to those places, and you wont be disappointed if that's all you're looking for.
Tiger Sushi really raises the bar for the whole Sushi Experience. The sushi chef's are AMAZINGLY TALENTED, I wish I could post pictures! J.R. and Victor treat their customers like they are their best friends, and put the effort, and creativity into every dish. Two of the most experienced sushi chef's in MN. The presentation is always phenomenal, new, and creative; even for the same dish. The taste and freshness is on par with the presentation; always excellent. To top it off, they try their hardest to make sure you get a dessert on the house. Some sort of creative arrangement of strawberries, pineapple, orange, mango, etc. It's always delicious and beautiful, the perfect way to finish off your visit.
TIP: For Sushi Lovers, just tell them to make you something special, or tell them to go crazy. You will be blown away; they are so inventive, and they know what tastes good together. For those who have never had sushi, or have friends who have never had sushi, let them know; they will create something special just for you that anyone will enjoy with fruit, shrimp, or vegetables, etc.
Tiger Sushi 2 is also in uptown now, and they have a coupon for $10 off your total bill until Feb. 28th, 2009. Just ask when you get there.

By far the most innovative sushi restaurant in MN, go and see for yourself!
Terrible service, mediocre sushi.. Sushi in a Midwest mall? I was skeptical, and rightfully so. We waited more than 10 minutes for water because they ran out of ice and had to get it someplace else in the mall. The server did not get our beverages for another 5 minutes or so. When we asked about menu items, our server was rushed and did not seem as though she was confident in anything that she was saying. Some of my sashimi combo platter was still somewhat frozen in the center, and the sushi combo plate had a Salmon Skin roll that was overly fishy, salty, and gritty. Our soy sauce bottle on the table was EMPTY, and when we asked another employee for more, he seemed annoyed and inconvenienced. That took another 5-7 minutes even though we had our food. The sushi/sashimi quality left much to be desired overall, not to mention the slow, impatient, and cold service we received. Highly overpriced for the quality of their fish. I have had many sushi bar experiences, and this was the very worst. SAVE YOUR MONEY; eat sushi elsewhere (NOT in a mall).
That's too bad. I've been there easily over 30 times, and never had an experience like that. The service has always been really friendly, and the sushi has always been fresh and great tasting. Give it another shot, it must have been a bad day. They also have a new location in uptown off of S Lyndale, called Tiger Sushi 2.
Simply put, the greatest tasting sushi anywhere!.
The flavors are amazing blend of sweet and salty.
The freshness is uncomparable.
The staff buzz around like dancers.
