Mediocre, Overpriced Food, Shockingly Rude Waitstaff. You'll notice that a few of these reviews talk about how rude the wait staff is. They aren't kidding...

Shockingly rude server. Shockingly overpriced food. The cubano is $13, was soggy and greasy, and was approximately 5 inches long. Poor soup and mediocre salad, likewise overpriced. The customary $6 dessert.

Back to the Cubano-- it compared UNFAVORABLY to something you would get at Arby's for $4. And at three times the price!

The service, however, was on another level entirely. The server Aaron was rude and abrasive from the moment we sat down. His attitude was the second worst I have ever seen from wait staff anywhere. He rolled his eyes when we ordered, he didn't bring us water, he was unfriendly and snappish. Then he threw down a bowl hard enough to drop food on my companion.

His attitude is unacceptable for a restaurant that charges so much for such mediocre food. It would be more appropriate at a coffee-slinging joint.

I recommend strongly that this place be AVOIDED. There are numerous restaurants with fairly priced food and friendly wait staff within a mile of this sad, deteriorating joint.

Oh, and-- if you sit outside, expect to be treated to the reek of the sewers. This may seem hard to believe but it's true.

Good Food TERRIBLE service. We have gone here two different times. Each time the food has been delicious but our service was absolutely terrible. Never came back to check on us, had some sort of attitude about everything. The only thing that brought us back the second time was how good the food was. They really need to hire new staff because we will not be returning until there is some real customer service.

Great food Nasty waitress. I attended a business dinner at the Grill and was horrified at the waitress. She felt she deserved a better tip and actually confronted one of the guests at the dinner! This caused a very embarrasing scene for all of us. Make sure you bring a hefty tip if you go there if you want to avoid an embarrasing confrontation. I felt her actions were very inappropriate and caused very uneasy feelings with our group.

Recommend but a little disappointed on menu change .. Good service, nice place by the river. Just disappointed on the menu change. Wish you could bring back the Ahi Tuna.

This neighbrhood restaurant puts a modern spin on the old-school diner concept.. In Short
Giant banana waffles. Sweet-potato French fries. Tempura-battered green beans. These aren't exactly the types of extras you'd find at a diner, but at the Longfellow Grill, unique dishes and local flair are the norm. Big, bubbly booths make this a perfect spot for families and large groups. And all-day breakfast fare means that everyone--including finicky pancake-loving kids--can find something to enjoy on the menu. A separate bar also makes for a great neighborhood meeting spot for happy hour or quick bites, like the gorgonzola fritters or pierogies.
