Great Happy Hour. I was pleasantly surprised when I went to the Library for happy hour - I could get Stella for $2.50 and a big burger for the same. The waitstaff were actually really friendly. It was much different then the packed late night Library I usually go to.
Crappy College Bar.
I've been here many, many times because I have a number of friends who live in the area and it's within walking distance. I, however, won't go back as long as I can help it.
Every time I've gone there, it's been ridiculously crowded and loud, which is not a fun way to socialize. If you like to dance, you might be able to find any open spot to grind with your girlfriends, but just hope no one gropes you when they pass by.
As far as drinks, they pour them weak and rarely have any sort of decent specials.
The bar staff are unfriendly and slow to take an order. I will give them a little credit, though, because I can't imagine trying to serve large numbers of wasted, egotistical college students. So, in all actuality, the bar staff are probably just jaded.
As I already mentioned, I won't be back as long as I can help it; I've never enjoyed myself here.
Overrated. Being one of the newly updated bars on campus, it has a lot of hype. I have been in the bar during the day for meals and at night with friends. I have to say the food is pretty good however the waitresses never seem to happy to be at work. One waitress even told us when we were eating upstairs that it was fine we were there but "it would just make everything harder"...um ok? At night it is usually busy but takes about 20 mins to get a dollar rail drink you have to choke down or all the ice will just water it down for you anyways. However it is a good place to dance! Being 22 sometimes I feel like I am the oldest person in the bar and that doesn't make any sense. So good food and good music. Could be a great atmosphere but the wait staff just doesn't cut it.
Great Happy Hour Deals. They have some of the best happy hour deals in Dinkytown. $2.50 you-call-its from 4-7 and 1/2 off appetizers from 4-9 . . . you just can't beat that. The nachos there are perfectly salted with three different dips and their french fries are thin, greasy and delicious. The upstairs has probably twelve 48" flat screen tvs so when we were there for March Madness it was great. If you are looking for a place to hang out with your buddies, watch some sports and not break the bank you should check this place out.
