Great addition to hopkins! – Great atmosphere! Good service. Comfortable seating. Love this resturaunt.
I do wish they would switch up the menu. We live in the area and we can only eat the same things so many times before we get bored. We would eat there a lot more often if we knew there would be more than one steak entree.
The calamari salad is THE BOMB!
Fresh Food, Great atmosphere – Fantastic fresh food, good price and excellent value. wonderful wine list. Service is very good, everyone seems to care about your experience. You even see the chef/owner, stopped by our table to ask for feedback, how often do you see that in this town.
If you like freshly made food with local consideration (not french or new york) you will love this jewel in Hopkins.
Execellent relaxed date night!! – Great Wine List! Impeccable food, it was all abviously made freshly that day, including the pasta!! The main dishes are exciting combinations you don't see everyday, but nothing 'weird' and everything I've tried here has all worked amazing together (even ingredients I don't normally like) and tasted execellent. Food is well worth the price. The atmosphere is classy but relaxed, and the staff is very helpful and down to earth. Because it is small special requests for food or a different way of serving it are usually doable and not unwelcome. The only time I was not completely impressed with the food and service was New Years while it was very busy. The menu was smaller, and food was not as fresh tasting or cared for. So, if you want the best experience go on a weeknight.
Disappointing – After all the good reviews I read, we were excited to try this place. We were sorely disappointed and even confused by the food and will not be returning.
First of all, the appetizers were uneven: the spicy shrimp were absolutely delicious, the grilled calamari was bland and badly paired with the bitter lemon relish, the beggars purse was good but couldn't find any trace of the prosciutto that we paid for. I let the server know and she agreed, should have asked her opinion first I suppose. The seasonal beet salad was overwhelmed by the blue cheese, but good once I ate around that. The chicken was great but overpriced. The gnocchi was ok but I couldn't figure out why they threw in calamata olives with this dish of delicate seasonal vegetables.
I will give this restaurant high marks on the atmosphere (classy, dark & romantic) and the wine selection. But for spending a bundle, we were saddened by the quality of the food.
