So glad I was able to reserve MAKEUPDO to style hair for me & my bridal party.. I was staying at a bed & breakfast in Stillwater the night before my wedding, and my bridesmaids, mother and flowergirl were going to get ready in the room with me the day of the wedding (The Carriage House, Aurora Staples Inn). I knew that most affordable hair salons wouldn?t allow me to make an appointment to get the girls? hair done and I didn?t want to drive around the city all morning looking for salons, so I wanted stylists who would come to me. I could find few traveling stylists & the ones I did find were booked or were very expensive. I contacted MAKEUPDO and emailed with the owner, Nicole Newman ? her hairstylists were already booked on our day so Nicole referred me to another company, one I had already ruled out. Nicole later contacted me out of the blue about the referral she had given me. We talked, and she actually was able to squeeze us into her schedule since we needed her stylists in the morning and the other bride would need the stylists in the afternoon. Nicole and I met at a coffee shop near my house & we discussed my needs & I put down a deposit (MAKEUPDO requires half of the total cost). Nicole?s prices weren?t the cheapest, but the peace of mind I felt was worth the cost. As another ?thank you? to the ladies in my wedding, I paid for everyone?s hair to be styled. I also paid for a trial run for myself ? Nicole and one of her girls (Lanie) came to my house months before the wedding and practiced styling my hair. It was a very helpful service and it helped me figure out what looked good on me and what I would want on my wedding day. On the wedding day the girls (Nikki & Lanie) arrived on time and began after our photographer arrived. I chose to have my hair done last for some reason & I wouldn?t advise this to future brides, as the other girls? hair took longer to style than expected & made us late. Overall I was very happy with the experience - everyone loved their styles, and I feel MAKEUPDO helped make me look beautiful on my wedding day.
