Tips for Level Salon

Love My Hair!. I started going to Kelly at the Level after Kelly and her sister (Kate) who also is a stylist at the Level, did an offsite wedding for one of my best friends last summer. Everyone in the wedding party's hair was gorgeous. Kelly both colors and cuts my hair and I couldn't be happier. I have had total strangers ask where I get my hair done. It's nice to find a salon that is comfortable and where you know you'll leave feeling like a million bucks!

Love Level Salon!. I have been going to Level Salon since they opened their doors and I see both Kate and Kelly for my color and cuts. I have received nothing but great service and every single stylist treats me like I am his/her own client! All of the stylists have years of experience and training and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair! That is the reason I drive all the way from Eagan to visit the salon! I have highly recommended Level Salon to many friends and they have had nothing but great things to say...not only about the stylists, but about the great services they receive. You definitely get what you pay for at this salon!

Exceptional service Good prices Try it!. People ask me where I get my hair done and I tell them downtown at Level Salon! They always ask why would I drive "into the city" for a hair cut? Because it is more than just a hair cut. From the time you walk into Level Salon you are treated like a queen (or king). The receptionist is friendly and offeres coffee or water. I have been seeing the samy stylist since the salon opened and always get a great cut and style that grows out evenly, especially when I don't get in on a regular basis.

The prices are great for an upscale salon. The saying is true that you get what you pay for. I always get a great cut at a great price. I don't mind the drive "in" and my stylist always makes room for me in the schedule.

I highly suggest you try Level Salon. You won't be disappointed!

Nice hair....but very expensive. My girlfriend was asked to pay $145 for a cut and color, after we had been specifically told it would be around $55 (cut AND color) over the phone. I expected it to vary a little in price, but double or triple? After seeing our shock, the stylist "knocked it down" to $110 ($55 for color, $55 for haircut). Haircut was more of a bangs and ends trim. $55 for a haircut! The work was nice, but come on. We paid the extra in protest after they insisted we pay and tried to reprimand us for not understanding what was involved in the incredibly hard work of hair coloring, but have no plans of ever returning.

No sophistication here.... After finding out my favorite stylist at Moxie Salon in Uptown had left, I went to Level Salon after it being highly recommended by Twin Cities Live TV show. When I called, I explained that I have very curly hair and wanted to be paired with a stylist that had the best experience in this area and was booked an appointment with Kelly.

When I came in for my appointment I explained to Kelly that I needed a hair cut that was low maintenance and didn't promote frizz etc. She stated that she knew exactly where I was coming from and just how to fix it. I noticed her hair cutting to be a bit different than what I'm typically used to and although a bit concerned, I trusted that with the recommendation not to mention the price I was paying, she knew what she was doing.

I'm used to stylists at the end of a cut styling my hair completely different than how I do so it's hard to see the end product until I've done it myself at home. When it came to me doing it myself the next day, I realized just how terrible of a cut it was...my hair is parted to one side and that side is longer than the other, infact, my hair is shorter in the front, longer in the middle and then shorter in the back which makes for a very odd look in the shape of a W.

I called the salon to explain the situation and talked to Matt (?) at the front desk who apologized and asked if I would survive until she was able to arrange a time that was convenient for both of us, I told him that I would most likely have to wear my hair up for the majority of the time and try to come up with inventive ways to hide the problem. He assured me that he would get the message to Kelly and she would call me back as soon as possible.

I never heard back whatsoever and thought about calling to talk to the owner about such poor and unprofessional service but considering how bad of a job she had done on my hair to start with, I figured it'd be silly to think she could fix it. Avoid Level Salon!

Chic, upscale salon specializing in hair care, nails and waxes.. In Short
Everything about this Mill City-district salon screams chic and sophisticated: Walls painted in serene blue; glass chandeliers decorating the waiting area; and pristine wood floors that provide plenty of reverb for dainty high heels. But the service here is far from pretentious or stuffy. In fact, the stylists hail from some of the Twin Cities' finest salons, and they've brought along their years of expertise and valued customer service to provide great haircuts, colors and more in a welcoming atmosphere.
