great hanng out place.
I love this place. It's a wonderful spot to hang out with friends. I am recently sober, and find it hard to hang out with my frinds at bars, so instead I come here to relax and hang out.
I have never noticed poor service- but I read the reviews on here. Actually- to be honest - if the staff had a bad attuitude, I don't think I would notice - I'm not really there for them anyway.
nice place, below average service. The food is yummy. It is a shame the waitstaff aren't pleasant. It affects the vibe. On more than one occasion the staff seems like they don't want to be bothered taking orders from customers. Weird.
Good atmosphere - Poor service. The atmosphere is relaxing and trendy. The food and drinks are wonderful. Everything about my experience was great except the service. Staff was not friendly or accommodating.
A community vibe, scratch-made goods and weekday happy hours make Common Roots a perfect meeting and dining spot that's anything but common..
In Short
The first thing you notice about this Uptown café is the abundance of laptops: Sliver ones, white ones, big black ones; they all become breakfast, lunch and dinner companions at tables filled with everything from grass-fed all-beef hamburgers to organic scrambled eggs to glasses of beer and wine. In fact, this brightly lit and activity-buzzing café is one of the few places in town that doubles as hangout spot for the telecmmuting crowd and a date and dinner spot for night crawlers. Everything at Common Roots is home-made and fair-trade, which are just a couple of the reasons it feels like a welcoming community filled with food for the soul.
My favorite local hang-out.
I regularly go here for oatmeal on the go in the morning, and a sandwich for dinner with friends. Very friendly service and the food is quite good. They've got a great selection of veggie food and teas.
I've found Sunday morning and afternoons to be a bit crowded for my tastes, but the evenings are great. Hurray for Common Roots!
