Editorial Review for Manhattans – by Blair Reynolds

In Short
As the city's newest and trendiest place, Manhattans delivers with a posh interior, inventive cocktails, like the Rock Star, a fruity martini with pop rocks added for a little fizz, and irresistible food like the sea scallops cooked just right and pasta a la vodka. Lunch highlights include New York deli style sandwiches and burgers. All of this in a décor of rich woods, marble floors and a polished granite bar.

After making reservations and arriving on time we were sent to the bar to have a drink while our table was being set up. At the bar we stood for over 10 minutes without acknowledgement from any of the three bartenders. We told the host why we were leaving and she tried to convince us to stay, but at that point there was nothing left. The restaurant left a bad taste in our mouth and we didn't even eat there.

Pros: Good location

Cons: Service

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

My husband and I had a great Valentine's dinner at Manhattans. The decor and music was fabulous. Manhattans was so relaxing and yet upbeat at the same time. We were able to share some needed quality time together, have a couple glasses of wine, and with our attentive waiter have a relaxing evening. We shared the crab cakes for our appetizer, and they were a great beginning for the rest of our meal . The Roasted Red Pepper soup made our hearts warm, it was delicious! My lamb chops (which our waiter recommended) were perfect , they melted in my mouth. My husband had the filet, which he felt was one of the best he has ever had. We ended our great meal with a creme brulee. It was alittle cold out that night (okay, very cold), but we were glad we made the effort to try this restaurant. They have managed to bring a part of the real "Manhattan" to the Twin Cities area. Thank you Manhattans for helping my husband and I celebrate Valentines day. We plan on coming back soon, with our friends who had recommended your restaurant to us.
