Tried It Twice and Won't Go Back. This was our second time back. We thought we would give it another shot, but it was just as I remembered. The portion sizes are really small, the cornbread is really expensive considering what you get, and the meat options were really nothing special.

Environment lively but food & service inconsistent. One of my favorite dishes is the plantain and reminds me of numerous family days when I was younger. This time they were quite off but I didn't have the heart to send them back. They were quite blackened (ie burnt) and some slices completely all over. I looked over at the neighboring table that had ordered them after us and theirs were golden and bronzed. Not sure what happened to mine. Needless to say I was quite disappointed and surprised at the inconsistency and icy service.

Fantastic!. Great first experience at Brasa, I highly recommend it. Considering the chef and the website, I expected the restaurant to be a nice sit-down place. We were surprised when we pulled up to see something that looked more like a fast food joint. The building is a converted car service station, complete with the clear garage door stalls. However, once you get past the initial surprise and start eating, it all goes out the window. We ordered the braised pork, braised beef, cornbread, cheese grits, creamed spinach, and fried plantains. Also went with the big chocolate chip cookie and cafe con leche for dessert. It didn't look like a lot of food when it arrived, but it's all very filling and absolutely delicious. The only complaints that I had were that I like my cornbread a little sweeter and my coffee a bit stronger. The service was great and I couldn't believe how inexpensive it ended up being for the quality. Go early because they don't take reservations! We arrived around 5:20pm on a Saturday and the place filled up soon after.

Good but expensive. I really like their food but for the portion size it is expensive. If things were about 20% cheaper it would be wonderful.
