Best thing I ever ate.... Recently enjoyed my first dinner visit to Oak City with business clients. We were "greeted and seated" promptly and immediatly our server was at our table reviewing specials and making wine recommendations. My group decided to let Jason our server do the driving, he put together apps and entrees that were spot on. Jasons service as well as the management team seemed to anticipate our every need and executed our dinner magnificently...and then, the Piece de resistance.. The best thing I ever ate, a banana cream pie dessert, like no other dessert I've ever enjoyed, it truly was a "slice of heaven".

Nice Patio, Awesome Staff, Great Eats. The wait-staff are expedient and attentive. The manager is very friendly and truly wants his customers to have an enjoyable experience at his restaurant.

Their internet page showed a dinner for 2 at $19.95, but this wasn't in the menu. When we asked about it, our waitress told us that special ended on Monday, and pointed out other value meals that were now available. She also said she would let someone know about it and they would remove that special from the internet site.

Without us complaining, the manager came to our table and apologized, and gave us a wonderful dessert at no charge. That is proactively assuring the customer is satisfied.

I highly recommend Oak City of Bloomington as a restaurant of choice.

Foods okay. Lunch soup and salad is okay, They don't seem to keep up on it enough. Something is always empty. Food is good though.

Racists, biggots, you name it.. I am not a person of color. I am a Caucasian that graduated from St. Cloud State University. Upon entering this place my friend (wearing baggy clothing) and I were able to enter the bar. Behind us was a man, wearing no baggier clothing than my friend and they refused to allow him entrance. I cannot explain how upset I was when I saw that he was declined entrance since he looked like the polar opposite of a trouble maker. The bouncers here clearly have discriminatory practices and I hope we can all brand together to put an end to racism.

Patio Party Alert. Went to Oak City Bloomington for the first time to celebrate a friends birthday. I was amazed at how busy this place is, DJ was playing awesome music, their patio was amazing, the manager heard we were celebrating and came out with a bottle of champagne for us, free! This is our new favorite place thats for sure.

Oh try their tenderloin bites, to die for!

No Visible Tattoo Dress Code??. I was out celebrating my friends birthday Saturday night. Our last stop before heading back to the hotel was a place called Oak City(not my choice) located in Bloomington. Before even getting through the door I was told by the bouncer that I wasn't allowed in because I have "visible tattoos". I thought he was joking with me, but he wasn't. I was told the only way I was allowed in was if I put on a long sleeve shirt. To which I responded "if I put on a long sleeve shirt I would still have visible tattoos!" A friend of mine pointed out a girl on the patio smoking with visible tattoos on her arm, but the bouncer didn't care, he stuck to his stance of no visible tattoos. I was quite offended by the whole thing because my tattoos are professionally done at Uptown Tattoo and they are not offensive, racist, gang related, or anything of that nature. Last I checked they don't even have a dress code!

Glad they are so professional and mature about everything!

Unprofessional employees. Vulgar and offensive customers. A lovely waitress served us 2-for-1's for about an hour and we were enjoying our time, however there were multiple shady men circling the bar that did not allow for complete relaxation.

A female friend was confronted and cornered by an exceptionally shady gentleman. He was then escorted to the door since he was obviously heavily intoxicated. The bouncer at the door then gave him one more chance which he used to continue to harass customers. Multiple employees did not agree with our six person table that this one man was not safe, and should be escorted out. In fact, our entire table was then asked to leave!

We decided to leave the uncomfortable, and likely unsafe atmosphere. While entering our taxi we watched as the bouncer WALKED THE EXTREMELY INTOXICATED MAN TO HIS CAR AND WATCHED HIM DRIVE AWAY.

As the man drove away we asked the bouncer if the police would be informed of the drunk driver, or if he would call in the license plates and car model. The bouncer's then began to harass us, and let us know of his bar fight skills. He actually stood outside the door and yelled toward our taxi to try and aggravate us to fight. There was a curly haired manager who did try and keep the peace, however the bouncer was very unprofessional.

Needless to say, we will not return to this establishment.

Ever.

Inappropriate behavior. The food and drink at Oak City was wonderful and we were able to get seated in the dining room in shorter amount of time than expected for a Saturday night. However, our experience was completely ruined when we witnessed one of the managers cussing and swear at one of his employees. To witness such an event was uncomfortable for my husband and me. I think this type of behavior is totally unacceptable and I can’t even begin to imagine how staff is treated behind the scenes if they are treated this way in front of customers. We will never return to Oak City again.

A Great Night Out. My husband and I decided to try out this new place on Thursday night for dinner and check out their live music. He had the Ribeye and I had Cajun Chicken Alfredo. They were both fantastic. Server highly recommended their homemade Banana Cream Pie for dessert that she claimed is made from scratch and isnt assembled until the kitchen gets an order for it. I love Banana Cream pie and this was the best i have ever had hands down. As far as the music goes we were both blown away at how great this place was for live music. Performing that night was GB Leighton with his full band but it was done acoustically so you could still hang out and enjoy the music but still have a conversation. That was very, very cool. Service was great and the atmosphere was a 10. Best date i can remember having in a long time.

I highly recommend this place and we will definately be back.
