Owner is a color genius!!.
I have finally found my home away from home for hair. I currently live in Excelsior but own a home and have lived and worked in Los Angeles for the last 15 years. I worked in Film and T.V. as a Producer and an Assistant Director so I had access to the best Hair colorists and stylists available to humankind. I mention this because I want to stress that I know hair and I know good color. My last colorist was friend Kim Vo who was a celebrity hair stylist often seen on E T.V. After 3 or 4 very bad color Jobs here in the Minneapolis area I decided to try something close to Excelsior. I came in to Lili and I felt that the atmosphere looked good. Still I was skeptical. Then I met William and he sat me down and talked about how I wanted the color to be. He literally spent at least 15 minutes just talking before he mixed any color. Then he tinted my roots and foiled my full head of hair. His color was perfect...real genius. This man has a gift and he works hard at making every client happy. He also controls who the staff are that work with him and they seem to be very competent as well. I had a blow -out by one of his stylists that was as good as any i have had at any Beverly Hills Salon. I could tell that this girl although young was really well trained and talented. I think it is so important to have both. First they have to have the vision then they have to have the training to carry it out. It seems that William makes sure his staff is like him... fabulous.
Also, I wanted to observe that the only negative comments I have read about this salon are about something unrelated to hair. Personally i could care less how the receptionist is or that the blow-outs are not complimentary. As long as i come out looking like a movie star for a price that is much less then many places in Minneapolis or Los Angeles who cares?

My first haircut and styling at Lili was the best.
The massage at the wash bowl started the experience. I enjoyed that!!
My stylist visited with me, made suggestions about the cut and she took the time to do an elegant job.

Amazing Ambiance. I had the most amazing experience before Christmas at Lili. I was stressed with the whole holiday insanity and was cramming my hair appt in between shopping and an event I was not looking forward to. I entered Lili and was immediately in another world. I was wecomed and treated to refreshments and delicious snacks while waiting for my colorist. As I was getting my hair done there was live music to enjoy. Even though the salon was humming, it was the most relaxing couple of hours I can remember. The staff was so friendly and they made my experience seem effortless. The salon is really beautiful too.
Thought they would be the best. I went to this salon hoping to find my home. I went for a color and was told during the process that the stylist does not do blow outs. So, I waited for 27 minutes while they found someone to blow dry my hair. Shouldn't they have told me this when I made the appt.? I was happy with the color, but waiting for the blow dry really turned me off. I will go elsewhere so I can leave with dry hair!
Lana is vivacious, charismatic, and brilliant!!!!. I had Lana cut and style my hair. She is a truly talented stylist that listens to what her clients are asking for in a cut. I walked out with a grin from ear to ear! My hair was beautifuly cut and styled the way I had asked for it to be done! The layers, of my shoulder length hair all blended together very well. I can't say enough about how fabulous Lana is. Lana is the only sylist I will have cut my hair from this day forward!!!! Lana always has fabulous ideas on how to improve ane change my hair cut. One last thing, once Lana cuts your hair you will feel the same way as I do about her.

worst salon ive been to. everything about this salon was horrible, but the worst part was the AWEFUL receptionist. he was rude and had no idea what he was talking about. i would never visit salon lili. EVER AGAIN.
Thank you for your feedback. We train our service providers to ask for help if they do not know the answer to a question. My sincere apologies, if that did not happen in your case. We have tried everything to follow up on your experience. We contacted all of the Katiejeans, Kates, Katies, etc. that have ever visited our salon, in an effort to help remedy your experience, and could not find anyone who had reviewed us negatively. We did notice, however, on your Citysearch profile that you had visited and reviewed a neighboring salon on Citysearch a week earlier, and wondered why you followed that very complete visit with a visit and review of our salon. It seems that you had just had all the services done a week earlier. Please contact us to clarify this very puzzling situation, we would like to make sure we do not repeat this experience for others if it really did, indeed, occur.

I love Lili. This salon is truly like no other. It's so open and spacious while everyone there is so warm and inviting. My colorist was so attentive to my needs, right down to the cafe-mocha! My color was perfect! I will definitely be returning.

Impressed with mgmt. I had a disappointing experience here but I was impressed that the owner called me to try and rectify the situation. The salon seems to be focused on customer satisfaction which is not found in a lot of salons. They're sending me a coupon and I think they're worth another try.

best flat-iron ever!!!. For years I've spent what must be hundreds of dollars on flat-irons. My new best friend is a flat-iron I bought at Lili. The One-Pass. My hair is really curly. But of course i like to wear it straight. A battle I have fought for many years. I've tried everything. Hot tools, chi, sedo to name a few. One of the stylists recommended the one-pass flat-iron. along with the nectar thermique and oleo-relax products. It really lives up to its name. I have yet to go in for a hair cut but so far I appreciate the excellent customer service. Thanks to Lola she knew exactly what my hair needed.
