This Uptown restaurant is fast becoming a local favorite..
This sake bar has Asian influences written all over it -- screened lights illuminate Japanese writings; walls are decorated in vertical wood lines; booths are backed by horizontal wood slats. But the stars of this small-plates Japanese pub are the home-brewed sakes, three different kinds that range from light to sweet to super-dry. All three are equally unique, but be careful: The Junmai Nama Genshu goes down smooth and easy, and its alcohol content is 18.4 percent. Yowza! As an added bonus, large windows give gawkers a view into the kitchen, where vats full of white rice become fermented and alcohol-soaked and turned into the homemade sake delights.
