Good Music and Food..
The bar has an eclectic mix of patrons from lawyers and accountants to blue collar workers and college students. They usually have live music on Fridays and Saturdays. During the weekdays you can find various dart teams several nights a week. You'll find plenty of seating and a large bar with a variety of beers and drink options, most of which are inexpensive. They also serve a variety of bar foods, including sandwiches and burgers. There is an upstairs with a pool table that overlooks the main bar area. It's like your neighborhood tavern in the middle of downtown St. Paul.

CHECK IT OUT NOW!!!!!!!.
The last review for The Hat Trick was in 2008. I would like to hear some more experiences. The staff is different so the person referred to in the review is no longer there. Has anyone a new experience to share? Ask for Lisa if you want awesome shots and there is live music every weekend. For those who think this is just a "dive" bar you need to revisit.

What the ....?.
Five friends and I went to the Hat Trick Lounge on the Saturday before St. Paddy's in order to have some drinks but avoid the huge obnoxious crowds elsewhere in St. Paul. We sat down at the bar, ordered drinks and chatted for about 20 minutes before the female bartender told us that "we had partied enough." We were on our first drinks, chatting quietly. When asked why were being cut off, she wouldn't answer. I'm guessing it's because we didn't fit the normal type that frequents the bar (people over 40). Needless to say, we went elsewhere and had a great time.
This bar is not friendly to twenty-somethings. And I am an older twenty-something.
