Never Again!. This place is awful! Came to see a band I love, the stage was good but the place is dated and dirty. Why come here when you can see your favorite place somewhere that feels safe?? Staff is horrible. Service was laughable. Don't waste your time or money.

A great office-gathering place. I recently organized a going away party for 20 people after work. Plenty of free parking behind the building. We had lots of room inside and outside under the covered patio. The drinks are cheap – 2 for 1 until 7pm. The food is cheap – the most expensive appetizer is $4. The staff is welcoming and kept us well fed and watered. The next day I received many complements which I hereby pass along to the MMC.

Live Music Mecca for St. Paul & Minneapolis. The Minnesota Music Cafe is literally an Institution. Love the staff, the food, the ambience!

The ownership is always the first to help with a benefit for a local cause or local artist.

Great place 2 perform.

Where else can you find live music, at this level every nite? Only at the Minnesota Music Cafe.

This mini-Minnesota music hall of fame is too well-kept a secret.. In Short
Perched astride two neighborhoods--St. Paul's Downtown and East Side--the Minnesota Music Cafe proudly holds a torch for Minnesota music history. The walls are lined with glass display cases housing old records, posters, photos and the like, each one honoring a different local legend. Mostly working-class East Siders frequent the bar, but music lovers from other areas stand in the sunken dance floor while enjoying the large beer selection.

Best place to hear live bands!. This is the best place to go to hear GREAT, live music consistently. Though this place is smoky and parking can sometimes be tricky, it is worth the effort. Their location is extremely easy to get to. The drink prices could be a bit lower, but when you get to listen to great music every night of the week I guess you should expect to pay more than you would at some other place that only offers DJ/Jukebox "entertainment". The owners are very friendly too and have been known to open up their doors for various benefits. I highly recommend the MMC to my friends, family and everyone else. Check it out!

BEST BAR ON EAST SIDE. Yes, the out-of-towner's review is correct: when you go to the MN Blues Cafe, you're going to mingle with a lot of east siders - and most are older than 35. But's that's the charm of the place - it ain't uptown; it ain't 7th avenue; it's the east side. The music is always good, and the men and women are average. No pretty people here; no plastic people here. I know that older guy, the one who dances with the women, and yes, he is about 80-years-old. I wouldn't want him gyrating in my face, but he has danced with many women and he's fun to watch. I've seen some amazing blues players there, and it is a fun place to go if you are alone.

MMC bands, dancing & way-smokey. All ages are welcome. The raised stage for large rock bands with horns and large dance floor along with seating oriented to the stage makes for a fantastic night out dancing. There are even booths around the sides and a pool table by the bar. The only thing that prevent mes from giving the MMC a "highly recommended" rating is the "way-too-smokey" atmosphere.

User review by tradervic123. Ideal place to mingle, listen to great types of music and feel safe, not like it's a meat market. Best place in St. Paul to get out. All ages have a great time and has wide appeal, especially for those over 30. Excellent dance area. Great biker bar too! Eye candy is superb . . .

-. MMC is great place to get up close and personal with the bands, and even when its crowded, its not too crowded. The people are a mix of many different ages and the bands are great! I would recommend it to any of my friends!
