Great happy hours!. Service is slow, but the food is alright and the beer is cold. Check out 50 cent tacos from 3-6pm.

Bad Service. Went there with a few buddies on Thursday and the service was horrible. The waitress was horrible getting drinks and taking food orders. And when the food came, it was wrong and horrible.

Horrible service & expensive. My husband and I met some friends on a very slow Sunday night. After waiting on the patio for 20+ minutes with no service (it was not very busy outside) we finally moved inside and sat at the bar. The bartender who was very nice, but very slow took our order and screwed it up. We ordered 2 sandwiches and had 2 tap beers each an the tab was $60. I grew up in Saint Paul and Sweeny's was one of my favorite hang-outs, but it really has gone down hill in the last few years. The food and service not worth the price!!

A Twin Cities Staple. The guy who bashed Sweeney's three times in a row to make it appear that he was more than one person was completely out of line. Sweeney's is great and doesn't cater to underage people nor does it need their business! It's one of the most successful bars in the twin cities for a reason.

great place. I love sweeny's be it expensive and the service being the worst I've ever had. That said, the vibe is amazing and its a great place to hang out with friends, especially in the summer/early fall. The foods great too . .. plus, you can save money because you don't have to tip that much for such terrible service :)

Sweeney's is great!. Contrary to what andrewkoto had posted. Sweeney's is a great place to go before and after Grand Old Day! It's an annual tradition for me. I mean....maybe if there is only ONE server for the entire patio, unless their super human, yeah....you might not get top notch service. Every time I have gone to Sweeney's i've had a great time. Ignore what andrewkoto said....This place is great!

A neighborhood oasis for beer and burgers.. In Short
Located on a residential corner, this lively pub attracts a mix of singles, couples and families for lunch and dinner. Loud music keeps the saloon noisy and helps draw a late-night bar crowd. Plenty of TVs make Sweeney's a popular option on game day. The typical bar-food menu does offer a few surprises, (spaghetti in a spicy Sicillian sauce and juicy bugers). A decent beer list includes Blue Moon, Anchor Steam, Pilsner and Grain Belt.

Horrible Service on Grand Old Day. A couple friends and I were there after Grand Old Day and the service was terrible. We sat on the patio and put in our order for 3 burgers. After having to go to the bar for our drinks and waiting an hour for the food we decided to leave. I told the only waitress working the entire patio that we didn't want the food and that I wanted my credit card back. We left and went to La Cucaracha just down the street... Much better service! Oh, and they still tried to charge my account for the food we didn't get.

Great Spot. Sweeney's gets no R-E-S-P-E-C-T for there Bloody's and food. They may be the best in the Twin Cities. If you're looking for good beer - Sweeney's in the spot. The patio is great in the summer.

Sit outside!!!. A summer night at Sweeny's can't be beat. The service is good and the atmosphere is better. Has a bit of a "Cheer's" vibe going on inside. If it's nice out make sure you sit out back--the patio is one of the most unique in the area.
