Our favorite neighborhood chinese restaurant. We have been going to this restaurant since the day they opened. The food and service is great. They know us by name and can recite our order. Highly recommend this place.

affordable chinese. The food here is great! I have been going here since i was young and I really like it. I especially love the very reasonable prices! I eat a lot and I'm always satisfied with the portions here for the prices. Pretty much everything is made to order and they can customize orders to make them they way you want it, they can even make the orders without MSG. Plus they've been in business for over 20 years and the service is great!

I really like the chicken lo mein, the sesame chicken, the chow mein, and the egg rolls. (the egg rolls are the best here because they are homemade!)

What can I say? The food is great, the portions are big, and the prices are small..

Best chinese food!. I have been to many chinese restaurants and Golden Chow Mein is by far the best! The food is made fresh instead of sitting around all day and the service is great! Plus the prices are very reasonable. My favorites there are the pork fried rice, sesame chicken, lo mein, cream cheese wontons, egg rolls, and chicken wings. But its all good!

try Golden Chow Mein!. i have been to many chinese restaurants and golden chow mein has truly impressed me! the food is fabulous, the place is clean, and the prices are affordable, esp during these tough economic times.

i esp like:

sesame chicken

special lo mein

chicken almond ding

and my daughter loves the chicken wings!

try it! my mouth is watering as i write this!!!!

The Best Chinese Restaurants Dont Deliver. I have tried many Chinese places in the twin cities and Golden Chow Mein is absolutely the best. Their food tastes wonderful. It is never too greasy or looks like it sat under a light all day. They have homemade egg rolls that are out of this world. My favorite dish is the spicy chicken almond ding. I am craving it just writing this! I have never dined in but I can tell you it is nothing fancy. But you wont notice once you taste the food.

Best americanized chinese food in the twin cities. I have to recapitulate the previous review:

1. It is not a fancy place, but rather a hole in the wall that could seat 20-30. That's the charm of the place.

2. The service is great but not 5-star dining but what would you expect?

3. The food is the best non-traditional chinese food in the cities that I have encountered. It's sad City Search has not reviewed this place because it's better than - David Fong's, Le Ann Chin, The Cathay (my previous favorite), Mandarin Kitchen, Mandarin Garden, Village Wok (another great place with similar "charm") etc, etc. If you want traditional chinese food or dim-sum, this is not the place but if you want "americanized" chinese food and/or take out - try this place!

4. Favorites - their egg roles are the best I have tasted anywhere (they make them instead of buying them), any of the fried rice, chicken or beef with broccoli, egg-foo-young, or sweet and sour dishes are also excellent.

Best Chinese Food.... I cannot believe the Citysearch editors have not visited and reviewed this restaurant. Yes, it is a real hole in the wall, the place could only sit maybe 25 people tops, but this has always been part of its charm. There is no restaurant in the Twin Cities that has better Sweet and Sour Chicken. Believe me, one you have eaten Golden Chow Mein, either inside or takeout, you'll be a regular customer.
