Details all taken care of. If you are looking for a place where the details are all taken care of and you want your wedding to be a step up from all others, 490 Summit is where you must go. The mansion is simply beautiful and well taken care of. The owners/managers of this lovely place have everything so organized. No need to worry about the details. They take care of everything for you; the wedding cake, refer you to a florist, they handle all of the food and beverage for you and much more. No need to worry about the guest book or decorating because they had it all ready. Candles were on the tables with beautiful linens and the bride has her own area to get ready upstairs. I had an afternoon wedding right there at the mansion and came down the beautiful wood staircase. The hostess greeted my guests and the staff came around with champagne. The food was very good and the cake was excellent. I would do it all over again exactly the same way if I had the chance. This is not a place for a big band and noisy huge crowd. This is a real treasure for a wedding with class.

cozy venue!. 490 Summit was the perfect venue for our wedding in February 2009.

The whole planning process was extremely pleasant from start to finish!

The atmosphere was perfect for our small wedding - cozy, quaint, and quiet! Our guests loved having full range of the house for socializing. In the dead of winter, we did not feel cooped up, cold, or restricted in any way.

The staff was very helpful and remained very professional from start to finish.

There were enough options to personalize things to our liking.

They worked well with all of our vendors & everything went off without a hitch! It was all very low stress!!!

We were very pleased with everything & would NOT choose a different venue if we had it to do over again!

Wonderful Atmosphere. My husband & I had got married in February 2009, and had our reception at 490 Summit. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding reception. We absolutely loved the house - so warm & gorgeous - even better when the fireplaces are running on a cold winter's night! The food was great - we listened to management's recommendations & are so glad we did. All the guests enjoyed the food & there was plenty available for seconds for any who wanted more.

We were greeted at the door with our champagne - and glasses were kept full throughout the cocktail hour. Beer & soda was kept in the coolers in the ballroom - easily accessible to guests from the start of the reception if they wanted non-alcoholic drinks or preferred beer to wine & champagne. Water glasses were kept full during dinner. The buffet line moved quickly, and worked well that there was food available on both floors so guests didn't have to climb the stairs with food.

We did a lot of things ourselves to help keep everything in budget, and management was extremely accommodating and willing to work with us. They were also easy to work with when it came to other vendors - chair cover set up, cake delivery, DJ set up. At the end of the night, they had all of our gifts, the extra alcohol & anything else we owned (centerpieces, the napkins, etc) all boxed up ready for my family to take out to their cars. Management was also extremely accessible throughout the planning process - giving me helpful hints, telling me if something would or wouldn't work, and answering my myriad of questions.

Disappointing Service. We booked the house for our wedding reception in April 2009. It was a nice setting and the food was pretty good. But the service was poor. We were charged about $4 per person for "beverage service," which consisted of two coolers that weren't restocked until, I, the bride, requested four times that they were refilled. We also paid $1 per person to have soda available, which they didn't put out until the dance portion of the evening. We assumed it would be available at dinner. The bathroom on the third floor "ballroom" was out of order--very inconvenient for our guests who then had to go down to the single bathroom on the first floor. They also charged us for a security guard who wasn't there. The waitstaff were so concerned with resetting the tables for the next event that they didn't pay attention to us--the paying clients who where in the house at the time. Our guests were constantly shooed around so they could clean/reset.



I sent an email to the owner the day after the wedding to explain my disappointment. The best thing they could have done was refund part of the money that we paid for the services that were not rendered, the least they could have done was send an apology for poor service that marred our otherwise great wedding. They did neither.
