In Short
With changing exhibits, a lengthy roster of special events and an inclusive attitude, this center offers a welcoming space for all Minnesotans. The center is home to thousands of artifacts, ranging from a 1950s Univac computer to the homemade boat that Gerry Spiess sailed across the Atlantic. While there are more family-friendly exhibits, sections like "Tales of the Territory" exhibit, with its thought-provoking multimedia look at Indian treaties, are more somber.

This is a great place for kids to go. It is fairly small and there is great things for kids to do. It's good for field trips and dosn't take all that much time to look at it all. It's great. Enjoy!!!

When we took her kids to the MN History Center, my friend was afraid they would be bored and wanting to leave shortly after arriving. Was she wrong! We stayed until closing and enjoyed the media show, the recording booth, the barber shop, the "Lincoln Log" cabin, the tornado show and the grain elevator (great for climbing).
