The Best Pizza In the Twin Cities
by midway1912 at Citysearch
Have had the pleasure of having pizza in 29 different states, and this place is TOPS.
Better than Chicago, New York, Boston, Philly,...... Quality toppings, incredible sauce, fresh REAL cheese, and a crust that is just perfect whether thin OR thick.
Be prepeared for a LONG delivery time if ordering via phone, but worth it.
- Pros: INCREDIBLE grubbidge.
- Cons: None
Top-notch Quality!

This is some of the best pizza I've ever eaten. The prices are fairly high, but the quality you get in return is SO VERY worth it. They have a wide variety of toppings, sauces, and cheeses to choose from, and some of the most wonderfully creative "specialty" pizzas I've ever seen - including a wide selection of vegetarian options. The regular and pan crusts are both excellent - soft and bready, not greasy or rubbery at all (I haven't had the thin crust). My personal favorite of their pizzas is the "It's Not Easy Being Green", with a basil pesto sauce, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese. Another that I really liked while they had it was the "Chicken In The Garden" pizza, with grilled chicken, broccoli, and cheddar cheese. My family has also enjoyed some of their other pizzas, the lasagna, and the hoagies. They have refillable fountain drinks if you're eating in, or bottled drinks to go.
The building is situated on the 3-way intersection of Como Ave, Front Ave, and Dale St. in St. Paul. It's on one of the narrow corners, and shaped like a triangle; the dining room is relatively small and only has about 7 tables. However, there aren't usually many people eating in, and you could probably seat a group of 6 or so at the larger tables. They also do carry-out orders, either in person or over the phone, and their menu is available on their website if you want to peruse it before calling in or stopping by.
- Pros: Quality, Variety, Creative combinations
- Cons: Price
Tasty 'Zza

John's Pizza is great, simply because it's nothing like chain pizza restaurants. Their crazy combinations of toppings like Chinese Fire Dragon (pepperoni, pineapple, and hot pepper rings) and Hog in the Bog (German bratwurst, wild rice, and mushrooms) wil make your tongue go wild and beg for more. Definitely one of the top pizza joints in the Twin Cities.
- Pros: Interesting toppings, Good value, Friendly staff
Best Pizza in town

you pay for quality, and QUALITY is what you get at John's Pizza Cafe! Every item you can think of to top off your pizza, and the sauce is just as good! I've never had a better pizza!
- Pros: food, location
- Cons: small inside
Pizza to Die For
by Proofwell at Citysearch
Marvelous combinations of pizza come out of this corner building where Dale, Como and Front intersect. Try the Denver (ham, green pepper, onions) if you're tame; try Popeye's Pie (spinach!) if you're in the mood for something healthy; try the Chinese Fire Dragon (spicy!) if your taste buds need a lift. You can find chicken pizza here, too, which is unusual in a traditional pizza joint. This place is tucked away but it's well worth finding.
- Pros: Variety of sauces, Unusual combinations
- Cons: Few tables for eat-in
