Best Customer Service Ever – I have been a member for 2 years and have had nothing but excellent service. I was recommended to Hiway by the people we bought our house from...both were members and had rave reviews. I became a member because Hiway has some of the best loan rates around. When I compared with other local banks Hiway gave me the least hassle, the best rate and approved me right away. Some of the other big banks in town put me through a ridiculous process of approvals. Just based on my credit score alone, Hiway qualified me right on the spot.
This is the best example of their customer service... When I opened my accounts I received a call a few days later from the same banker I met with asking me if I had any problems using the ATMs or logging into their online portal. Super nice people who treat you like a person, not a number.
Worst customer service ever – The worst customer service ever!!! Especially the collections department. Highway sent me to collections and after I paid off my collections and after I paid my debt in full, they hit me with a 28% additional fee for my loan. Not the collections agency Highway fedral did. People go through tough times in life and YES I should have paid my loan, and eventually I paid it off with the collections Agency. But after I thought all was fine, I noticed that Highway still reporting me to the credit bureaus as major deragatory. They said that I owe them 28 % additional add on fee, or else they will keep on reporting me...Do they just invent these fee's? How come I was not informed of this initially? So I three way the collections agency and Highway, and the collections rep said he had no clue what highway was talking about, and that he was not aware of the extra 28% they were charging me even after I have paid them in full. Long story short they (highway) is inventing fees to get your money, and after several voice mails to the manager of the collections dept. still no phone call. I will escalate to the regional branch manager then the BBB by this week if no answer. Forgot to mention that the representative that I dealt with called me ignorant because if I had paid them from the get go then I would not be in this position. His name was Colin I believe. I will never bank with them ever....and I highly suggest a different credit union..there's a lot of good ones out there just don't take your money to highway..the worst customer service ever!!
