A decent gym with short hours

Some of these Bally gyms used to be open 24 hours. Then they started closing at midnight., now that they're in Chapter 11 they close so early a guy with a family can't make it there if he tucks his kids in at eight at night. They lost lots of customers when they drastically cut back hours.

Very capable staff - workout warehouse

Although the facilities are excellent, the surroundings feel a bit too much like a warehouse: too open, too exposed.
The machines are in excellent condition, but it can be difficutl to find one you want that is a) free, and b) works what you want.
The group classes here are excellent, in a large, well-ventilated, mirror-lined room. The instructors are miked and friendly.
Make sure to leave time for the hot tub after your workout!
- Pros: large, lots of variety
- Cons: very busy, not very private, machines can be balky
