FRAUDULENT BUSINESS DO NOT DO BUSINESS
WITH THESE PEOPLE.
ABSOLUTELY MISERABLE EXPERIENCE DEALING WITH TWIN CITIES TOWING.
My car was towed from a legitimate parking spot in my schools' parking lot. The first time I called I was lied to, told my car was not in their lot, and rudely hung up on.
I called a second time a few hours later and spoke with a different worker who informed me that they did in fact have my car.
I called to ask if they accepted credit/debit cards and was told they did, but when I got to the business the worker told me they only accept cash - no exceptions.
WORKERS ARE INCOMPETENT AND EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL. PRICES ARE RIDICULOUS - $35 a day PLUS $200 TOWING FEE. They make it extremely difficult to retrieve your car IN ORDER TO EXTORT AS MUCH $ AS POSSIBLE.
I too believe this business needs to be investigated. I honestly do not know how these people live with themselves. The only solace I find in this whole experience is that my life cannot possibly be as terrible as theirs - THEIR CAREER IS BRINGING MISERY AND HARDSHIP INTO PEOPLE'S LIVES.
Follow the Money.
$35/day is standard I've found. No complaints.
MN State Trooper had the vehicle sent here instead of Forest Lake "because it's covered by insurance" If I was there, it would have been different.
Cost to tow from St. Paul to ST. PAUL!! = $300
Cost to tow from St. Paul to Forest Lake by any company WITH LEGITIMATE COMPETITION = $210
$75 for hookup and $4/mile is the going rate, and IMO there some behind the scenes abuse/corruption going on. Would like to see it investigated.
good service. I had a really good experience using Twin Cities. I'm not sure what the cost would be since I have towing insurance but I'm sure it isn't exactly cheap. My car's transmission went out in the middle of winter while I was in the middle of a busy city street. They responded quite quickly and got my car ready to tow very quickly. The driver even turned on his heater really high and made sure that I was warmed up and comfortable before we drove the car to the auto shop. I was very pleased with their service and would recommend them to anyone...but you might want to check their prices first if you don't have towing insurance.
Total Jerks.
Prices = Outrageous
Service = Horrible
There's not too much else to say. Have had 2 nasty experiences here. I'm pretty sure there isn't one curtious employee anywhere to be found inside this business.
LEGAL ROBBERY. FEEDING YOUR KIDS WITH MY MONEY IS NOT GOOD,I WISH ALL GET LONG TERM CANCER, LEGAL ROBBERY THEY LEGALLY ROB PPL TAKE THEIR VEHICLE ,MONEY ETC AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE 1 TO 10 I SHOULD SAY -800
VERY GOOD BUSINESS!. This is a very successful business in the Twin City area. I don't knwo why people are complaing about this business at all. The work that these people do is amazing. They are on call and ready to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. It would be a very stressful and dangerous job and I don't think you people realize this. Just think about it the next they are pulling your vehicle out of the ditch on a below zero day in January and your the one sitting in a nice warm vehicle. And for the people that complain about the price of keeping it on the lot, get your vehicle out of there. Why should they have to look at and why should it take up space on a lot that they are paying the taxes on? You can help pay it!! The cost of the tow is pretty cheap too when one of the trucks is worth well over $100,000! Just think about who you rip on when you do so.
Worst in the cities.
I was involved in a pileup accident last week in which cars were crashing about every 10 minutes. Naturally, the police were there with a fleet of tow trucks from "Twin Cities." By the time I called AAA to come pick up my car, it was already being hitched to a Twin Cities truck. When I asked about AAA, I was told I could be reimbursed (which I haven't attempted yet).
DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY TOW YOUR CAR under any circumstances. They charge an outrageous $35 a day to store it in their lot.
My horor story goes - I paid in full 3 days after my accident (a whopping $300 (thats a new ipod!)) and scheduled a salvage yard to come pick it up the same day. Well the salvage yard decided it wasn't worth the trouble of picking it up or telling me they weren't going to. When I called "Renee" (651-642-1446) the next morning after I had scheduled another tow she wasn't even willing to wave the ADDITIONAL $35 fee since it was there one more night.
Oh and their excuse to charge you $35 per night even on weekends? They are open 10a-12p for your convenience. Good luck getting a towtruck in that timeframe.
I dont see anything wrong.. Perhaps your son shouldn't have parked on the street and gone overseas during the winter. Or, perhaps you should have used better judgement. Why is it so difficult to understand the registered owner of the vehicle needs to come in to pick it up? Makes sense to me.
Bad Business Practice. This company is s cut-throad company that will do anything possible to make it impossible to recover your car from their yard to make you pay the $25 a day charge. They towed my sons car after a snow storm in Roseville. We tried to retireve the car with all the information they asked for on their letter - Original Title, Proof of Insurance, and cash to retrive the car. They insisted that our son who is on a study abroad trip must fax in to them - Twin Cities Transport-Recovery, a notorized letter authorizing them to release his vehicle to us. We explained to the Manager (A Female) that our Son is overseas on Study Abroad and that it will be difficult for us to reach him. she insisted on this "make as you go" policy. They would not even suspend the $25 a day charge even though we pleaded with this manager that we are having difficulty reaching our son overseas and that this will add burden to him to find a court system to otain a notarized document overseas. I offered that they take a copy of my drivers license of make any other demands that we can provide. The car was not declared stolen and we can not imagine whay they insist on such a policy when we have all the proof they stated on their letter and our last names are the same. She did not care.
