Worst Customer Service Experience. I was planning on having lunch at Davanni's because I heard it was a great place, apparently I left my car in their parking lot too long. I politely asked to speak with a manager about this issue and he escorted me right out the back door, pointed at a sign and shut the door before I could speak with him. The waitstaff that was on their smoke break began laughing at me, only one guy took the time to help me out. I was trying to ask for directions and the manager refused to talk with me. Other than the cashier, I felt like the whole staff bullied me. Unfortunately, now I tell all my friends how awful of an experience I had there and I will never go back to try their food. I spoke with the manager later, on the phone, and he admitted he was abrupt with me, but never apologized.
worth the trip. my wife and travel to St Paul often and always make a point of stoping by at Davanni"s Pizza &hot Hoagies it is a 6 hour trip so it a pleasure to know we will get great food when we get to town. The employees really make you feel welcome and are always quick to serve you
Run don't Walk. These hoagies are the bomb diggity and the pizza makes me want to swin in a swimming pool full of the stuff!!!
Hometown pizza joint is a favorite stop for everything from post-T-ball parties to late-night study sessions..
In Short
The numerous locations are clean but not fussy. You can get in and out fast, but it's alright to linger. Order at the walk-up counter, grab your pebbled plastic pop glass and head for a table to wait for your name to be called. Hand-tossed, thin-crust and deep-dish pizzas with rich tomato sauces feature traditional toppings. A variety of hoagies utilize pizza ingredients in creative ways (pepperoni in the club, peppers and olives in the veggie).
!,this is an example of business that should be shut down and do us all a favor and do not call yourself a davani?s pizza. this is the worst place ever! there service is absolutely horrible, all the people there are extreemly rude and they don?t treat people as customers at all, no concept of customer service whatsoeververy unsatisfaied customer
The only place to eat out. I don't understand why anyone would eat any other food. They offer the two food groups: Pizza and subs. The best food in the world is their assorted sub on grain. I lived in Europe for 4 years and every time I flew back into MSP the first stop after baggage was a Davanni's.
Food to Die for. Davanni's food is, quite simply, out of this world. The biggest dilemma is figuring out if you're in a pizza mood or a hoagie mood. Either is good. I guess you could just go every other day.... Pizza is what you dream about. By far, the best in this town. Can save some calories on the hoagies by going heavy lettuce and onions and skipping the mayo and oil. Desserts. Killer Brownies are worth buying for tomorrow. Rice Krispie Bricks are also fantastics -- though a big pricey. Help is exceedingly friendly. They make a concerted effort to get to know your name.
Hoagies Rock.
Best hot subs in town. Period. Mmmm....If you really want to bust a vein, get a full order of hot turkey club and a full order of cheese bread with dipping sauce. Oh yeah. The dipping sauce is great.
The atmoshpere is typical pizza joint with come-n-get-it order pickup squeeled over a PA system. Get it to go and savor a Subway killer.
Call ahead for quick pickup.
Pizza & Hoagies, now which one to get?. As a long time customer of Davanni's, I'll start with the atmosphere. Not an expensive place, expect maybe $5-7 a person depending on how much you want to eat, good for sporting teams (after season parties for the kids, after game parties for adults.) The pizza is as good as it gets, I can't say anything specific because it would take too long. The hoagies are also FANTASTIC.
