Tips for Grandview Grill

Used to love it. I used to love this place. I live 2 blocks away from the Grandview Grill, and it was one of my favorite meeting spots for weekend breakfast/lunches. The food was always really good, the portions were out of control so that made up for the slightly high price, and it was a fun place to go since it is always busy. Well, the last couple of times I've gone there with someone, the service has been far from stellar, the portions are about the same but the quality of food has gone down hill. I asked for a simple substituion on how my eggs were cooked, which normally isn't that big of a deal. Well, they were served the original way, and when I told our server, she completely got a attitude with me. When she left there was a awkward silence. Then, my scrambled eggs had a piece of a egg shell in it. To say the least, if they have newer cooks, maybe they should be trained better, or get the old ones back. As far as servers, most of the time they are friendly, but they definently employ a couple unpleasant ones that need better social skills. Also, the last time I went with my sister and niece, our food took over half a hour before it was ready. Kinda inappropriate for a simple order of pancakes and a burritto, in my opinion. Like I said, I loved this place, and hope that they change it back to the way it was 2 years ago.

Love this place!. I used to go Grandview all the time when I lived in Minneapolis and I still go whenever I go home. I love the cajun and my husband loves the breakfast burritos. If I have enough room, I also get a kamakaze pancake. Unlike the other revies, I've never had a problem with the staff or the owner. I've been to this place twice or three times a month for four years and everyone who works there has always been friendly and treated us with respect.

Be careful though, portion sizes are huge!!

Wouldn't recommend it.. You only have to go to this diner a few times before you get to hear the lady in the kitchen yelling at her employees - none of whom deserve it in my opinion. This lady is a nutcase and should find a job where she has no interaction with people. Totally ruins the atmosphere for enjoying good conversation and food. Her last fit from what I've heard is that any food that a customer complains about will be paid for by the employee. Hmmm? She's the cook. If she screwed up my order by burning my bacon, why doesn't she fix it?

The food is good. The selection and portions are great but no thanks. I'd rather eat at McDonald's before going back there again.

Hey Dude where's your manners?. I got the rudest service I have EVER gotten anywhere. I would never go back, because having worked in restaurants I know about retaliation when a customer complains.

Cajun breakfast. the cajun breakfast is wonderful. If you aren't awake when you get there, you will be when you eat this platter. All of the portions there are large. But they offer a half order which makes it easy to order what you want. The service is spectacular and friendly. The restaurant itself has the feel of a small town dinner adn is very comfortable.
