Nothing Like Good Ole Plums
by Patrick James at Citysearch
Me and my girl friend bought a Happenings book, and noticed Plum's coupon inside. We both decided to give it a shot. We went in during happy hour, and got some tasty drinks at a great price. The apps were fantastic, and the burgers and fries were the best I've had in a long time. We turned Plum's into our weekly spot to do drinks, and we've been in there every Tuesday and Friday since. Amazing courteous staff and talkative and fun loving bartenders. Always a familiar face from the neighborhood, and you can always spice it up with their amazing menu.
5 STARS!
Great Example of Neighborhood bar
by haskeller at Citysearch
If you're looking for a unique place of exotic drinks, rare Scotch or costly foods, etc you'd be a moron to go to Plums. Its not what they're about. Plums is a pleasant neighborhood bar where friends meet to have a beer(s) and maybe a few appetizers. Every time I've gone in there I recognize folks from the neighborhood -- that's a nice feature.
- Pros: Location, Neighborhood feel
- Cons: none
2nd dirtiest bathroom I have ever seen
by diner98 at Citysearch
ATTENTION Air hand dryer only in the restrooms. Toilets unflushed, floor filthy, no soap. So many better places in that neighborhood, The Nook, Copper Dome, Goby's, Blondies, Tiffany's. Horrible service. Surley inattentive staff. The food looked good, but after my trip to the restroom I was afraid to eat it.
I'd pass.
- Pros: parking wasnt too bad
- Cons: dirty dirty dirty
Nice weekend spot
by smokeyust at Citysearch
Thursday through Sunday you can generally find a crowd here at night. They have some new dj's that have really stepped it up, as the 40 year old guy didn't used to do such a great job...
- Pros: Lots of HOT girls
- Cons: You have to smoke outside, but they do have a patio
NOT A DIVE
by rhodstar at Citysearch
I can't help but notice the review where Plum's is referred to as a dive. This person has clearly never been to a real dive bar if she thinks Plum's is one. They aren't trying to be five star, but they are by no means a dive. It's a little spot with good drinks, great food and friendly staff. It's a neighborhood bar and that's what it is...they aren't trying to be anything else. Anyplace that has had customers smoking in it for as long as it has been open, is going to smell of smoke even after the smoking stops. It is a bar afterall! Don't be turned off by the stupid "dive" review. Plum's is a nice place and the food is always great. Try the Yellow Fin Tuna Melt...it's the best sandwich ever! YUM!
- Pros: food, friendly
- Cons: crowded with college crowd on Thursday nights
