Funky fun coffeeshop, good food, staff could be friendlier. Coffee News is a funky fun coffeeshop frequented by Mac students and profs alike. The environment is comfortable for eating, studying, or meeting with friends. The menu and drink options are pretty extensive and interesting. I've gone mainly for lunch and I think the food is good, nothing to write home about, but satisfying. Except for the garlic fries, which are fabulous! The counter staff is sometimes a little short or impatient, but they bring the food to your table pretty quickly. Also, you get to heighten your street cred byy learning the words from the Urban dictionary on your table marker. :)

A coffeehouse with caffeine and character.. In Short
Macalaster, St. Thomas and St. Catherine professors and students mingle with Grand Avenue shoppers in a cutting-edge cafe. Dance and hip-hop music reverberate through the shop's decor of stained glass, brick, copper and art. Take your pick of 17 varieties of coffee roasted on site. Salads, homemade soups, and cold and hot sandwiches fill out the lunch menu, which also includes vegetarian dishes such as a hummus sandwich and brie platter.

one of the Twin Cities' best kept secrets.. This place is real and down to earth. The staff are quite friendly and one can go at one's pace here and just be themselves. The music and food, the art and coffee make for one of the best experiences in the Twin Cites.
