She tells you that you can pick your things up when the consignment period is over but when you attempt to do that you are met with an all together different attitude. One consigner was asked to quit consigning by the owner because she said it was bad for her business for consigners to be taking their things out of her store for others to see. The poor woman was in tears as she was doing this for her church where the proceeds went to less fortunate people. You can't find your things when you look for them or they are downstairs in their "Bargain Basement" where they are no longer yours. Anything that sells from there goes into the owners pocket for her next trip to Vegas. The owner is so tight she typically has one person working, a potential robbing opportunity. Difficult also to get to the bif or eat lunch. The owner is tacky, snippy & has a difficult time keeping good employees because of the way she treats them, it's like a revolving door there. They had a big lawsuit against them because 3 African American men were asked one evening to leave, not knowing they were fashion people in town scouting out the local consignment stores. Is this where you want to do business? Glad to say I am finished there!
It's everywhere.
Theres one in every bunch. I am an avid consignment shopper. There was one instance that I did encounter a very rude employee. However, I have also at Cub, Rainbow, Elite Repeat etc.
I have also encountered some of the nicest sale people at all these places. Maybe we should ask ourselves sometimes"What"s My Attitude". Shoppers are some rude critters too.
I must straighten this out. I have been a shopper and consigner for a few years now and I can tell you this place is great...but the reviews are confusing. Let me clairfy: There were 2 very rude employees who were let go -one acted as if she was the manager and her name was the same as the manager.I was even confused until I met the real manager and complained to her. Things were handled right away. The real manager is a kind, and generous lady. Other than that,I have never experience rudeness; nothing but smart saavy and kind help. I never thought I'd buy from a consigment store...but this is like a great boutique with fun and friendly staff. I hope this clariflies the mystery. It's a good place with outstanding bargains and kind help!
Subjective. As with most consignment stores, anything or everything is subjective with the person who is helping you. Encore is no exception. The merchandise is nice enough but the buck stops there. It seems to be a well known place for locals who are treated nice if they know you but I have observed moods and interactions all over the board that are, quite frankly, difficult to understand. Contrary to the owner's review, it is NOT the friendliest NOR is it the most accommodating store in town. I will quietly shop there but consign? I don't think so. A girl could get whiplash with this place.
Great place to buy or consign.
I've been a customer here for years and have been impressed by friendly knowledgable staff, and quality merchandise that has been carefully looked over to make sure I don't have to.
I have been in the shop when people come in without an appointment or with an attitude and I've been impressed by Encore's courtesy in the face of rudeness.
The shop is a treasure.

In response to the negative comments posted about our store, we are shocked and disappointed. We have taken pride for 15 years to be the area's friendliest, cleanest, and most accommodating consignment store in town. Our customer's preferences are our guidelines for consignment. Our high standards provide excellent selection of merchandise. We urge you to come experience for yourself the best customer service ever!
Thank you, Encore Management
Rude, Rude, RUDE!.
I am an experienced consignment seller and I've never been treated this poorly by the OWNER of the store! One of the employees happily took several of my items in the morning and then called me back in the afternoon to say that she had changed her mind, and could I come pick them up?
Ironically, when I changed my mind on an item I'd bought earlier in the day, I was flat-out refused a return; and I was given the tight-lipped silent treatment as my rejected clothes were stuffed into a bag.
I am always blown away when a store that depends on repeat business treats clientele so poorly (and in front of other shoppers). I've seen a lot of small businesses close their doors for good lately - I certainly won't be sorry - or surprised - if Encore is next. They've definitely lost my business.
Treated like dirt. Rude Management and customer service, experienced as a shopper and potential seller. Nice selection of clothes, but attitudes of sales associates not worth the hassle of parking and browsing through store. As far as selling goes, even with an appointment, disrespectful and insulting manager, very picky over brand names.
Rude management & customer service.
The first time I ever tried to consign clothes, I made an unfortunate visit to this shop. While I did not have an advance appointment, I did have all my items clean and on hangers. Since I only had approximately 30 items, I didn't think it would be a problem for them to review things-- especially during the a morning weekday when business was slower. The store owner treated me very rudely for not having an appointment and extended her negative thoughts to the clothes I presented. While they did accept a few of the items I brought in, what I had to go through in the process was not worth the hassle.
Parking accommodations were awful and the decor of the store was shoddy - two factors which are deterrents to garnering sales of your goods.
Thankfully, I have since had several other much more positive experiences consigning my clothes at other shops, which only serves to make my memory of my first visit to this store that much worse in retrospect.
I would never recommend this shop to anyone.
