Great Place. I went to the one in St. Paul with my son and we had a blast. The were so helpful and nice. She kept checking on us to make sure we were doing great. We went there 7 years ago for my son's 3rd birthday and had fun too. Will go again.

GREAT PLACE. Wow! I'm surprised to read some of the negative reviews about the Edina location of Paint Your Plate! I went with my daughters last weekend (ages 5 and 7), and I found the gal who helped us to be helpful and friendly. She greeted us as we came in, and showed us around before explaining how to paint the ceramics.

My girls each painted a designated "ice cream bowl" and we picked them up from the store yesterday, the same girl was working, remembered us and what we painted.

I LOVE paint your plate, and will definitely be telling my friends about it!

WORST PLACE IN EDINA. Took my boyfriend of one year and my almost 2 year old daughter here. I was never helped out. I had never been here before and the lady behind the front counter did not say, "Hi" or help me even after I went up to the counter and told her that I had never been there before and was excited to paint with my family. She didn't look up at me, she was not warm and friendly, she just told me to sit where ever I wanted and then told me to walk into the back room and find another employee if I wanted help. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. There were other people in the front that said to me that I shouldn't ask her for help because they were treated the exact same way. I pretty much had to figure everything out on my own and then to top it all off the paint they supplied was hard to get out of the bottle. I use the same paint at home. Half of it was gooy and dried up and the other half was just empty. The place was messy, dirty, unorganized. There were 2 employees the whole time I was there and 3 other people in the whole shop. COME ON! Don't ignore your customers. I could have just walked out of the place with a ton of cermanics and those 2 girls wouldn't have cared or tried to stop even if they did notice. I am HAPPY to tell everyone how horrible and mean and completely RUDE this shop is. I will NEVER go back.

Fun. Not cheap but had a good bonding experience with a few friends. Try it when the cash is flowing.

bad experience overall. Oh, how I wish I had paid better attention to the reviews already written here!!! I took my grandson to make a Christmas gift for his mom and had a TERRIBLE experience. As totally novice ceramics people, we got NO direction as to the order of how we should paint our item or even what our options might be. We arrived shortly after they opened and they weren't busy at all, so it wasn't an issue of staff availability. I also felt the prices were high for what we got and was very unhappy with the finished product. When I offered a respectful complaint while picking up the product, my name and number were taken but I have heard nothing from anyone at the store. Terrible customer service and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone, so plate painters beware!

Fantastic time. I called to inquire about having a bachlorette party and found the lady i spoke with to be very informative, as well as pleasant as she answered my many questions. When we arrived the night of our party we were immediently greeted by a young lady who showed us to the partyroom that was set up and waiting for us. She helped the few of us pick out our pieces as we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. We had plenty of space to set out our food and wine and enjoy our party. I found the staff to be helpful and interactive. We all had a great time!!! And although i was told it would take 7-10 days for our items to be completed, i was pleasently surprised when i recieved the call after only 5 days! We were all so excited to see the finished pieces and they were beautiful (to us)! I was so glad that we had our party at Paint Your Plate, We all found the experience to be wonderful!!! Thank you Paint Your Plate

Treated rudely..will never return. We had a very similar experience as Docia. We arrived a little after 7pm to be told "we stop taking walk ins at 7" I said "Aren't you open until 8, what time is it?" Her reply " seven oh eight" "We'll be quick" I said. She offered NO help, direction, NOTHING! then says "can you pay ahead so I can start closing out?"

We were making Christmas gifts for Grandma's and felt completely rushed, our pieces look like crap because I felt rushed, I didn't even want to pick them up. For how expensive the pieces are, I expect customer service to go along with it. Once finished I asked if I should clean anything up to which another woman who came from the back (why couldn't she have helped???) rudely without looking at me replied "no".

I have 2 more pieces to make and will be driving out of my way to Woodbury because I will never return to paint your plate and will spread the word. In these tough times, customer service should be phenomenal because without the customer you don't have a job. The customer signs your paycheck, these women do not get that concept. They under estimate the power of a customer, they have no idea how word about a bad experience spreads like wild fire.

We had a great night!. We had nine girls in the "Party Room" and it was a blast. The ages were 12 to 60 and yet the conversation was flowing, the creativity was amazing and the relationship building was great. I would recommend this event to any group, even those, like me who lack imagination, because it's just plain fun to see what everyone creates. We plan on going back again, now that we are seasoned plate painters.

RUDENESS ABOUNDS. Huge BOO to "paint your plate" on grand ave. Open until 6pm on Wednesdays, there is a big sign on the door "walk ins welcome" (it also says this on their voice mail). So I walk in at 5:02 to get a table for my mother, myself and my TWO children......and am told "no walk Ins after 5pm" (not what it says on the sign on the front door, and really, it is 5:02). I say "you don't close until 6". She says "actually I feel like closing at 5:35 tonight". HORRIBLE WOMAN! No apologies. She suggested I drive 40 minutes in holiday traffic to the other location that is open until 8p,. My son asks as we are leaving "mommy why was that lady so mean?" Scrooge. As we were out front after being essentially kicked out, a gal walked in with a little girl - they had "big sister" tote bags (like the big brother/big sister program). One could tell they were so excited (they were literally skipping). They got booted, too. This gal lost easily over $100 of business. Turned away 6 people in 5 minutes. Even if she had a reason, did not have to be rude about it. Won't be back.
