Editorial Review for Paint Your Plate – by Jennifer Blaise Kramer

In Short
Creativity abounds at this do-it-yourself workshop. Choose from plates, mugs, bowls, vases and more and then get artsy, painting whatever you please. Kids love the animal figurines and piggy banks while couples and adults make gifts and home accessories like colorful candlesticks. The shop fires personal creations to set and has them ready for patrons to pick up within a week.

I've been here three times, so I feel like I've given this place a fair shot, The prices are really high. The paint is not well organized, and the staff seems distracted and spend a lot of time away from the main room. On the positive side, the ceramics are good quality and there is a decent variety of them. I enjoy ceramics but I'm looking for an alternative to Paint Your Plate.

If you are looking for a birthday party spot, this is it. Even if people don't know each other well, the good times will roll. It keeps the conversation going when eveyone is doing art and can comment and help each other out. They have a great party room if you reserve ahead of time, and a great variety of ceramics you can paint. The prices may seem high, but when you take account that's all your paying for and they have a business to run, I think it's fair. I definitely intend to go back!

Pros: Awesome party room, neat selection

Cons: They need more color charts since the glaze isn't the same color as it will be after firing.
