Affordable! – Every time I order from Ming's Garden, I always get the Lo Mein with White Rice and Steamed Dumplings.
The Lo Mein tastes good, not cheaply made or tasteless at all. The steamed dumpling is also good because the texture of the dough is soft and moist and so is the meat in it.
All this is about $17 and even though the estimated delivery time is 45 mins, my food is still VERY hot when it gets to me.
THE BEST IN TOWN! – IF YOU WANT AMAZING SERVICE, SMILING FACES AND THE BEST DINE IN OR TAKE OUT FOOD. STOP
My Local Go To: Fresh, Tasty, Great Value – Ming's Garden has become my go to, local chinese take out joint. The "atmosphere" is seriously lacking, but for take out, who cares?
My two favorite dishes are the pork lo mein and the ma po spicy bean curd, I am a lo mein addict and what I love about the lo mein at ming's is the noodles are not overcooked and mushy like so many other places. The flavor of the lo mein is excellent and the noodles have just a hint of firmness to them.
The spicy bean curd dish is fantastic! Great vegetables, lightly fired chunks of bean curd and a sauce that has just the right amount of flavor and kick. I always get two orders each time because one just makes me want more.
Lastly, the portions are the hugest I have seen from a take out and their prices are the lowest around.
Great food, lots of it, and very, very affordable. Two thumbs up.
mings garden – Best chinese food around! always delivers Hot food. Will never eat chinese anywhere else again! Been eating there for years and just love it! GREAT chicken fried rice and chicken wings around!! Very friendly staff as well
Excellent Chinese-American Food – Ming's Garden has excellent Chinese-American food for take-out and delivery. The vegetables are fresh, hot, and delicious. The meat is tender and perfectly cooked. The portions are generous. The sauces are flavorful without being too salty or too watery.
Over the past 17 years I've had more than 20 of their recipes. My favorite is their Szechuan Chicken. It's spicy without overpowering chicken or the vegetables. Consistently delicious.
Ming's Garden is a pearl in the sea of Chinese takeout. It's one of the best restaurants in St. Paul.
Very Dissapointing – I wanted to like this place. I really did. It's a drag having to travel miles to University Ave. and Dinkytown to get good Chinese food. Unfortunately, after eating here, I'll have to keep on keeping on to find good oriental food.
I see that a number of the other reviewers highest praise of this establishments food is hot. Seems a little like offering the best compliment to a beer as it being cold. Who cares? Of course it should be hot, but I want good taste!
Speaking of beer, is there a hint of its taste in the sesame chicken? This weak nearly honey colored suace was nearly tasteless except for a hint of stale beer! Disgusting! The quality of the chicken used was also horrible. Very grisly.
The lo mein was no better. Again tasteless sauce.
The wonton soup was interesting in that the wontons are huge. Nearly the size of the palm of my hand, but that only led to it be hard instead of soft and juicy. And once again, the broth was boring and tasteless.
Ok, no Chinese place can truly screw up an eggroll, right? I mean I know there are truly great eggrolls. The ones that are light and flaky with flavorful fillings, but even average eggrolls are pretty good. But here you get an eggroll that is hot and crispy on the outside and filled with some indistiguishable molten mass that has no real taste, either. The best thing about it? It was smaller that any eggroll I had ever seen, so at least my suffering lasted a shorter time.
Do yourself a favor and go to any number of great Chinese places to the west of here.
Good food – mings garden is so matter a fact i am going to order some right now. I love this place
Traditional HIGH quality / American adapted Chinese – I was referred by my new neighbor and I was skeptical that they could deliver not only fresh food but HOT food with sauces that hadn't broken and gotten all watery... Would you believe that I live 2.5 miles away and the food still was hot enough to burn the roof of my mouth! If you find anything to complain about
vERY G00D F00D!! – The food is always hot. Delicious....the only thing i dont like is in the pepper steak they have alot of peppers. Like more pepper than meat, I always order $3 extra of meat.
Good Food – I like Ming's. Really good portions on the food. I like to pick up the food because I know it will be hot.
