Food tastes like it isn't made fresh.
I have to be honest the food here tastes like it's made somewhere else and delivered to the restaurant frozen and just is reheated. I've had others say the exact same thing when we've talked about it. The only great thing is the salad and breadsticks.
The appetizers are too expensive. Not sure why? And contrary to the Foodies who like pretentious food, not all people like chunks of stringy tomatoes in their food.
The wait staff and restaurant is nice, just wish the food was BETTER!!!
FYI, I have never seen a contributor review that didn't boast good things about a restaurant...just believe everything you read from 'contributor' reviews.

Traditional dishes and all -you-can-eat salad, soup and bread sticks are the draw at this upscale-casual Italian restaurant..
In Short
Established in 1982, this chain gained a following for its laid-back atmosphere and generous portions. Patrons settle into comfortable booths and tables in dining rooms with plants, artwork and décor reminiscient of the villas in the Tuscan countryside. Starters include scampi, sausage or pepperoni pizza, and several soup choices, as well as a signature seafood dip (crab, shrimp, cheese and marinara). Entrees include classics like lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo and chicken parmigiana. There are also "Garden Fare" options, which promise 30 percent fewer calories.

BEWARE!!!!.
Overall, its much like every other Olive Garden, which isn't to bad. But beware of two things. First off, they like to nickle and dime you on everything. Secondly, the Maplewood location is not in a safe neighborhood. Ask for a table by the window so you can watch your car. I have a freind who's car was stolen from the parking lot as well as I heard from the staff this happens every few months. During my visit I seen a car just driving around the parking lot very slowly looking at cars, after I seen him go around the lot a couple times I knew it was time to get our meal to go.
