Former comedy co-op features some of the best of the local comics.. In Short Dark and clubby, this venue near Maplewood Mall looks like a small-town Elks Lounge. It's so unassuming in presence that you have half a mind to turn around and leave. Don't. The owners of the place are some of the biggest names in local comedy. Guests at the adjoining Best Western Maplewood Inn often get tickets to the Friday and Saturday shows, so there's an odd mix of travelers joining the locals.
more than giggles.
I have not laughed that hard in a long time. The first performer was mediocre but the finale was absolutely hilarious. Tess, from last comic standing, was so funny I was almost in tears. You know, the kind of laugh that you almost are embarrassed by cause you can't control it. I have recommended it to my friends and family.
